This Hobbit Hole Build is Changing How Players See Housing

In case you live under a rock, World of Warcraft’s Player Housing goes live tomorrow (3rd December for EU). And if you don’t live under a rock but sometimes wish you did—or maybe under a hill (hello, Lord of the Rings fans)—then you’re going to want to check out what Excelso has built.

Their latest video showcases a fully-functional Hobbit hole, complete with round doors, a spot to smoke your pipe-weed, and all the charm you’d expect from the Shire. Excelso is planning to release a tutorial on this build soon, so you’ll be able to recreate your own Shire-inspired hideaway step by step.

Excelso’s talent really is a testament to how versatile WoW’s new forever feature is. The Housing system lets you take any item, resize it, flip it, or repurpose it entirely, turning things meant for one purpose into something completely new. And that freedom to experiment is what leads to Hobbit holes, QR codes, and pillow dragons.

Let’s be real: the Venn diagram of WoW players and LotR fans is basically a circle. So if you’ve ever dreamed of hiding away in a grassy hill with a pantry full of snacks, tomorrow’s your chance.
