We have a very chunky one this week, as we dive into both retail’s population and DPS logs, as well as Legion Remix’s numbers! Beast Mastery is continuing its domination of retail and then some, while Havoc still very much does a giant portion of runs in Remix. The DH, Paladin, and Druid actually make up just slightly shy of half of all runs made in Legion! But first, let’s start off with the retail numbers.

The data used in this article comes from Raider.IO‘s excellent analytics tools, taking into account all Mythic+ runs across all levels of play. The data is focused on this past reset and not on the season as a whole.
The Most Popular Specs in Mythic+ Retail
There’s no stopping Beast Mastery, as it surges even further ahead, gaining a very impressive 0.8% over the past week! This puts it a whole 4.5% above the next spec, as Frost DK is down at 7.4 and Restoration Shaman at 7.3%, both keeping relatively stable. Retribution actually gains a lot of ground, 0.4% up, and getting much closer to the No.2 and 3. Arcane is dropping like a stone, most likely losing players to BM, as it falls 5 spots and 0.7%, getting pretty close to Frost!

We’re still with a +22 maximum, but the spec variety has skyrocketed there, as the distribution looks very diverse for the higher key completed.

Group Composition Popularity
We actually have a stable week for once when it comes to the No.1, as the top dog remains in place. However, the No.2 composition, sporting a Resto Druid instead of Shaman, is gaining a lot of space, gaining 1% and almost coming within 1% of the top group! The Retribution-instead-of-Havoc group also gains ground, but only a little bit, 0.1% up from the previous week.

Beast Mastery falls further down, below its fellow nerfed Arcane. Meanwhile, Subtlety is having a good week, gaining two spots and passing both Fury and Elemental. The Retribution Discord is safe once more, as the Paladins soar even higher, also gaining two and landing in 8th place. Outlaw and Balance take Unholy down, as the Rogue closes out the top 10.
The Most Popular Specs in Legion Remix
Havoc has crossed the one-quarter of all runs threshold, coming in at 26.6% of all runs completed! All the top specs gained a whole lot of ground as well, with Ret gaining 2.2% of the players, and Balance 2%, at 12 and 10%, respectively. And so the top 3 specs make up just shy of half of all runs made in Remix.

Group Composition Popularity
Group composition remained pretty stable at the top. We do see the first actual 5-man group rise, however, as “only” the first 9 spots are taken by solo groups. Said 5-man still sports 3 Havocs, 1 Balance, and 1 Ret. The next non-solo composition is a 2-man, with Ret joining Havoc.
