Transmog Costs Dramatically Reduced in Midnight Beta, To 5 Times Cheaper

The new transmog system ran into some pricing trouble once it appeared on the Midnight Beta. Players were outraged at the prices. Both buying larger amounts of outfit slots and saving an outfit to a slot were much more expensive than anyone expected. Very quickly thereafter, Blizzard announced they would be reducing the costs, and we now have the results of those reductions!

Up to 5 Times Cheaper, Over 600K Savings in Slots Alone

The price reductions are dramatic indeed. Not only are the costs of the individual slots reduced up to five times, saving you a total of around 630,000 gold, but saving each outfit also costs around three times less! Let’s start with the more relevant number for most players, the cost of saving an individual outfit. It’s still more expensive than a full set on retail right now. However, the prices have been reduced by around 3x from the last Beta build. A full outfit now costs around 2,000 gold, whereas it was closer to 6,000 before.

Meanwhile, the full cost of 20 slots went from 796,000 gold to 162,650 gold, a 5x reduction. In addition to the price reductions, Blizzard will also be increasing the amount of available slots from 20 to 50. However, this hasn’t been implemented yet. So the total amount you can spend on the slots will be higher, but there will also be a lot more to play with.

It remains to be seen whether the next 30 slots increase in price above that 20,000 gold mark. But, if they remain the same as the 20th slot, the total price of the full 50 slots will still be cheaper than what 20 slots cost initially, coming in at 762,650 gold!

How many slots will you be buying? And is the outfit saving cost still too high?
