Remix may be coming to an end very soon, but it’s certainly going out with a bang! We recently covered two very, very fast 1/10-80 trips, going from a very complicated 20+ player seven-minute runs to very simple 6:30 runs with just a few players. And we’ve now reached the probable peak!
A Simple 3 Minutes and 50 Seconds to 80
First things first: apparently, even this still isn’t a “fully optimized” run! We’re seeing the same method from the previous 6:27 run, just, well, faster! There’s also the newly added 30% XP bonus on top of everything else. And then, of course, there’s some optimized routing and a few groups of players inviting the main across different shards and clearing the zone extremely quickly!
The Details
In case you missed the previous run, here are some details on how it was done. After collecting their artifact weapon and enabling Heroic World Tier, the runner received a teleport to Shield’s Rest in Stormheim.
From there, they enabled Flight Style: Steady to easily and quickly fly between areas to collect XP while others killed Tormented Skysunders in the area. It’s been a popular strategy for speedrunners, and earlier record attempts using similar setups have reached times around 23 minutes.
Once the mobs were killed, the runner would be removed from the party and join another, swapping to a new shard to avoid respawn downtime. The new shard would have all the mobs alive already.
Even Faster Times Still Coming?
We may be seeing some improvement to this time, as the new Legion Infernals dropping from the skies are also dropping huge amounts of XP! We have players reporting only needing to take down a few infernals to get to 80, even with modest XP bonuses. We’ll see if anyone goes for the new record in the next few days.
