WoW Guild System Feels Forgotten—Players Want Big Changes

As World of Warcraft continues to roll out new patches, some systems keep evolving, while others are left behind or endlessly recycled. Guilds, one of the game’s oldest core features, are long overdue for a meaningful rework, or at the very least, a round of modern quality-of-life updates.

Players Want Guild Updates

It’s been over a decade since Blizzard delivered any significant changes to guilds. The introduction of guild reputation, achievements, and a small vendor system once gave the feature a much-needed refresh, but that momentum didn’t last. Over time, guild systems quietly fell into the background.

Now, players are once again calling on Blizzard to revisit guilds in a meaningful way. Even basic elements like the outdated guild tabard creator UI have gone untouched for years and feel increasingly out of place in the modern game.

WoW Guild Halls

With player housing seeing strong interest and positive reception, there’s never been a better time to introduce Guild Halls, a feature players have been requesting since the early days of the game. The idea dates back to classic WoW, when spaces like the Champion’s Hall and Hall of Legends first sparked the imagination of what guild-focused spaces could become.

Some players have suggested integrating Guild Halls into Guild Neighborhoods, while others believe the Housing Endeavors could evolve into a shared progression system for guilds. Either way, a customizable guild hub that grows alongside a guild’s achievements could add a compelling new layer of identity and progression.

There’s massive untapped potential in the guild system. Potential that could reignite the social heart of World of Warcraft if Blizzard chooses to invest in it. There are plenty of signs that this system would resonate well with players. Hopefully, there’s some new additions or, at the very least, some quality of life features brought in by the time The Last Titan rolls around.
