WoW in D&D: Fan Makes Monster Manual!

We have a bit of a treat today as a WoW fan and community artist went above and beyond! There have been plenty of WoW to Dungeons and Dragons conversions and projects over the years, even the official Warcraft tabletop RPG (although that one was Swords and Sorcery)! Today we have a much smaller project, but with some truly amazing art, so let’s take a look!

Looks Over Stats

Yagokani, aka Yağız Kani, took up a bit of a challenge and made some WoW monsters in the style of the D&D Monster Manual. He clarified that the stats on the monsters aren’t really the focus and were just thrown together to have something there, as the focus is very much the art. And you can really see why!

Even with something as simple as the Voidwalker you can already see the artist’s style coming through pretty strongly. His personal style in general has been heavily inspired by WoW’s visual language, as he explains in the Reddit post. The project is much smaller than you’d see in an actual Monster Manual, as you can imagine for a fan project of one artist, so keep your expectations of quantity in check! The quality, however, is very much present.

This is also only the start! Yagokani plans to add classes, races, and more monsters in the future!

That’s one lean Felhound!

As you can probably tell by the header image, the Mana Wrym is definitely my favorite. It really evokes the game itself while being very much of the artist’s style at the same time. Also, BC is probably my personal favorite expansion so there’s that too.

The wax and the candle are very much accounted for in the manual as well.

There are a few more monsters over on Yagokani‘s Artstation page, with quillboars, imps, oozes, murlocs, gnomes, leper gnomes, and even a human! Which one is your favorite?
