Story Mode for the Voidspire raid has been released this week. Here’s how to queue for it!
Have you been unable to complete the main Midnight campaign because you don’t have a raid team who’s been able to take down the final boss of the Voidspire yet? No need to worry, because Story Mode is now available with the weekly reset!
Story Mode was introduced as a way to still engage with the raid’s story even if you’re not a raider. While it sadly still doesn’t walk you through the entire raid, it does take you to a greatly simplified version of the final boss battle – Crown of the Cosmos – allowing you to experience how the raid’s story ends, as well as the finale cinematic. It releases far earlier than the final wing of LFR, which means there’s no need to wait weeks before you can continue the Midnight campaign.
To access Story Mode, you will need to have completed the leveling Midnight campaign as well as the first chapter of the Max Level Storyline – Foothold – which you can track with the achievement The War of Light and Shadow. Story mode becomes available once you accept the quest The Voidspire. It should direct you to the NPC Venzilion the Reality Cracker, who can be found standing at the meeting stone outside of the entrance to the Voidspire. Speaking with this NPC will allow you to enter the raid.

Completing the fight in Story Mode does not reward any gear. However, completing the quest rewards 2049 gold, 10 Champion Crests, 1500 reputation with the Silvermoon Court, and a Champion-level cloak. Completing the quest also allows you to continue the main Midnight campaign, which this week continues to the end of the third chapter, Gathering of the Elves.

One addon you also might consider getting is the Lorekeeper addon by Keyboardturner. This addon keeps track of cinematics you’ve witnessed in-game, and then allows you to play them again at any time. So if you want to reward the Voidspire finale multiple times for reasons that we won’t judge you for, you can!
You may also be asking where the Story Mode NPC is for the Dreamrift. There isn’t one. This raid only has one boss, and is already open in LFR, so presumably a story mode wasn’t considered necessary. For that one, just queue for LFR!
