There’s just never enough space. WoW players have been wrestling with this issue for ages, as each expansion gives us a little more bag space. Well, it seems we’ve sped up into the far future of WoW where regular bag sizes have gone completely insane! A player managed to get 98 slot bags in their regular non-bank inventory. And it wasn’t just a visual issue either!
A Short-Lived Bag of Holding
NicholasStabile accidentally found themselves with a Portable Hole-sized inventory. While fiddling with the new bank upgrades, they managed to somehow just move the huge new bank tab into their regular inventory as a bag. That’s right, a 98 slot bag. And it wasn’t just the one either…

412 inventory slots outside the bank. Now that’s some SPACE! Is this what Dimensius wis coming back for? The wealth of space wasn’t long for this world, however, as it promptly went away when logging out, making it pretty impractical. It seems the new bank tabs are actually “bags” and are transferrable (although we wouldn’t recommend doing it), and stackable in the regular character bag slots. This probably won’t last too long, but it’s still a bad idea to try it, as it would probably be considered an exploit. One can dream, however…
The issue arose due to an addon mucking things up, and the gear was returned when space opened up after logging back in.
This will certainly be fixed soon (or already is), and who knows what happens if you mess with it too much, so we definitely don’t recommend trying it. With vendor and even Auction House mounts bag space has become less and less relevant, but it’s always nice to have a little more space…
And for a final pensive thought, we have the immutable fact of bag space inflation and its ultimate pointlessness:
