Ghosts of K’aresh has been revealed and we know where we’re going in patch 11.2! Blizzard have also shared the endgame of the patch, with one very giant raid awaiting us in Manaforge Omega! Let’s see what it’s all about
A Race Against Time
Manaforge Omega sits right in front of the giant void rift that dominates the K’aresh landscape. There, the Shadowguard Ethereals are trying to ressurect Dimensius the All-Devouring. The very Void Lord that destroyed the planet in the first place! Players will be trying to stop this from happening, racing through the 8-boss dungeon in an effort to end the summoning. Considering the final boss is Dimensius himself, we won’t be making it in time, which will lead to a truly epic battle!
A Boss as Large as Stormwind
Dimensius himself is said to be one of the largest raid encounters in WoW’s history. The boss supposedly is the size of Stormwind, according to the devs! This will be our first real taste of combat with an actual fully-formed Void Lord, so the scale sounds very appropriate. Blizzard also mentioned we’ll be seeing exploding planets in the raid as well, which very much sounds like a Dimensius sort of thing!

Raid Unlock Schedule
The raid will open with the Season 3 launch, one week after the patch arrives. It will be available on Normal, Heroic, and Mythic difficulties! Story mode will unlock one week after that, allowing players to see the final boss fight and the raid’s conclusion solo.

Manaforges, Dimensius, and the Burning Crusade
We’ve seen Manaforges before, back in the Burning Crusade. While the ones on K’aresh aren’t the same, their purpose and manner of operation are likely similar. The Netherstorm Manaforges in Outland were built by Kael’Thas and the Blood Elves. They harvested the energies of the Twisting Nether that seeped into Outland after the world was broken by Gul’dan. They were made from Tempest Keep’s engine parts and ultimately broke the Netherstorm apart due to the massive energies they pulled out of the Nether.

The purpose of the K’aresh Manaforges is probably the same. Siphoning energy from the Twisting Nether that appeared during Dimensius’ attacks. Whether there’s a connection with the actual technology from Tempest Keep’s engines and the Etherals will be interesting to find out.
When it comes to Manaforge: Omega, the energy there will likely be used to resurrect Dimensius. We’ve already seen the Void Lord emerge out of Manforge Ultris in the Netherstorm. And so the Shadowguard are likely using Manaforge Omega to form him back from the Twisting Nether.
The raid sounds pretty awesome, with that final Dimensius confrontation possibly being the biggest boss encounter WoW has ever seen. We can’t wait!
