Did you ever wonder if there is an addon that can bring you back in time? Well, there’s the next best thing! A pretty weird one, which turns the game into… Windows 95? For some reason. It’s not even the OS WoW originally launched in! But it’s an interesting one to be fair, so let’s dive in.
Souronm8 created an addon that turns the standard WoW UI into a Windows 95-inspired one – WoW95. The addon re-skins menus, frames, bags, and action bars into retro-style windows. But there’s more – a taskbar, Start Menu, and even Minesweeper! Every element, such as windows, buttons, and dialogs has been recreated from scratch, made with the in-game engine and some external assets.

Current Problems & Future Features
The character panel is still a work in progress. There is currently a problem with enchanting items from spells and items, which need to be done from the bag. And from the Start Menu button, the only thing that doesn’t work is the log off button – but hey, it’s still in early release!
There will be more features coming such as re-skins of: Spell book, Guild window, Group finder, Collections, and Adventure guide. This will all come after some tweaks and fixes of the first release.
