There’s some impressive Classic action on its way to the East this year! Chinese players will be getting their own type of Season of Discovery, only with Vanilla and two expansions included.
Titan Reforged
The project is titled Titan Reforged and isn’t quite as extensive with the changes as Season of Discovery was. It will combine Vanilla, The Burning Crusade, and Wrath of the Lich King into one big experience. Raids from all three iterations of the game will be upgraded to level 80. This will make the endgame experience massive. The raids will also be shuffled around in terms of progression. Molten Core may be one of the hardest ones! The raid sizes will also be made the same across all raids (presumably 40-man).
This also means all the gear from the raids will also be upgraded, so all the legendaries will be relevant in all the raids! Thunderfury/Warglaives vs. Lich King, anyone? Apparently the item re-tuning will be similar to what Season of Discovery did, but it doesn’t seem as if the runes and similar features will be added from it.
Timing and Global Potential?
The new realm called Time arrives on WoW China’s 20th anniversary in November. We’ve also seen Chinese servers often be the testing ground for future additions for the rest of the world as well, so this may be something that arrives over here eventually. Chinese players have long been WotLK diehard fans, so this definitely makes sense, even running in parallel with the currently active WotLK Classic servers over there.
