HoYoverse has officially revealed the Drip Marketing for Seed in Zenless Zone Zero! And it is not the Robot who’s in front page! A strange mix of machine and human, Seed appears to be both a robot and the girl controlling it. Something that we already sort of saw with Firefly from Honkai: Star Rail, even if there, it is only one single person transforming.
Who Is Seed
Seed is an Electric Attack Agent and likely an S-Rank based on the presentation. She belongs to the Obol Squad, so in the same faction as Soldier 11 and Trigger. It is almost certain that Seed is not fully human: her sort of mechanical arms and feet suggest some level of artificial modifications. She is definitely not the first Obol Squad member who is not entirely human!
“Seed Sr”
One of the most curious aspects of Seed’s character is her relationship with “Seed Sr.” It seems to be the robot body she operates? In her own words:
“While Seed Sr. was asleep, I made quite a few modifications to him~“
“I think… I gave him stealth capabilities in the latest update~“
“How did I do it, you ask? I just made some adjustments and tweaks by feel~“
So not only is Seed controlling it, but she is also the one upgrading it, casually adding stealth functions and modifying it like it’s a weekend project.
What Others Are Saying About Seed
As always, on the drip marketing, we got a few other Agents giving some information about the upcoming character. This time, they are quite some hilarious hints:
- Trigger mentions Seed setting up “safe houses” in the Hollows to avoid people. If she goes missing, she is most likely hiding in narrow, enclosed spaces or the mechanical storage…
- Magus has to deal with Seed’s unpredictable behavior during missions. It seems she can manage to break the joint operation commander’s ribs again, but at the same time captured the rebel leader who suffered multiple bone fractures. At the same time.
- Bangboonie has a hard time following what Seed says. Although that one it might more be no one gets what the Bangboo says but well..
- And one unnamed character seems to not be much of a Seed fan, calling her a “dangerous, cold-blooded monster,” questioning if she is worth protecting at all.
All this hints at someone who is not too comfortable around other people, has a bit of an issue controlling her own power, and is protected by Seed Sr.
It is also interesting to note that Seed Sr. and Seed do not share the same VA.
