Diablo 2 Hotfix Stops Chronicle Progress From Resetting

Blizzard has deployed a small hotfix for Diablo II: Resurrected that addresses a few bugs affecting progression and item drops.

The hotfix targets an issue where the player’s Chronicle could reset after identifying unique items dropped from weapon or armor racks. The update also resolves a problem that could prevent the Colossal Jewel from dropping after the Uber Ancients fight if a player entered and exited the portal during the encounter in offline games.

Below are the official hotfix patch notes.

HOTFIX 1 – March 10, 2026 – 3.1.1.4

  • Fixed an issue that was causing the player’s Chronicle to reset when identifying unique items dropped from weapon/armor racks. This applies to both online and offline games.
  • Fixed issue with the Colossal Jewel not dropping after the Uber Ancients fight if a player enters and exits the portal during the fight in offline games.
  • Various stability updates.

The Chronicle reset issue was one of the more frustrating bugs for players who ran into it, so this fix should prevent progress from being lost when identifying certain unique items.

And, of course, if you have been running Uber Ancients in offline games, the drop issue with the Colossal Jewel should also now be resolved. As always, more fixes may follow as Season 13 continues.
