Blizzard just announced a new Diablo 2 event that goes way beyond in-game rewards. This time, players can earn a permanent place in real life.
The Warlock Hardcore 99 Race will literally carve player names into history.
The Hardcore Race
Starting today, February 20 at 5 PM PT, the first 300 verified Hardcore Warlocks to reach Level 99 on the Hardcore ladder will be engraved into a physical monument at Blizzard’s Irvine campus.
Only those 300 players will be included, which makes this a one-time achievement, and not something that can ever be repeated in future ladder seasons.
A Different Kind Of Reward
Instead of cosmetics or titles, the prize is permanent recognition. Blizzard describes it as a way to celebrate players pushing the class to its limits at launch.
For Hardcore players, especially, the risk makes the achievement far more memorable.

Starting on February 20, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. PT., the first 300 verified Warlock players to reach Level 99 on the Hardcore Ladder will have their legacy engraved in a physical monument on Blizzard campus.

The Warlock Hardcore 99 ends once the final 300th player completes this pinnacle challenge.
With only 300 spots available, every moment counts. This race is a contest against both danger and time itself.
A Chance to be Immortalized in The Grimoire of the Unfallen
Should you prove yourself worth to be one of the first players to complete this ultimate challenge, your Battle.net tag will be engraved into “The Grimoire of the Unfallen,” a commemorative record that will be displayed on Blizzard campus in Irvine, California.
It is a distinction that will endure, an honor reserved for the worthy few.
Eligibility and Requirements
To be eligible as a winner in this event, you must reach Level 99 with a Hardcore Warlock character in the Season 13 Ladder. There are no server restrictions; players from all regions are eligible to participate.

- A Screenshot proving Level 99 completion
All submissions will undergo review and verification by the Blizzard development team. The first 300 verified heroes will officially be inscribed into The Grimoire of the Unfallen.
