Thanks to a change that guarantees Mythic Chaos Rifts will always reward a Mythic item, players now have a new reason to hunt down these ultra-rare encounters, and they could become one of the best ways to farm top-tier loot this season!
What Changed
Hidden in the Season 10 patch notes is a small but important line:
“Fixed an issue where the Mythic Chaos Rift did not always reward a Mythic item upon completion.“
In other words, Mythic Chaos Rifts will now guarantee a Mythic drop every time you finish one.
Why Is This Important
Chaos Rifts are one of the main focus of Season 10’s seasonal mechanic. They can spawn in Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons, offering rewards like:
- Seasonal Reputation
- Infernal Warp (to level up Chaos Perks, this season’s powers)
- Gems, XP, and loot
- Chaos Armor (Torment difficulty only)
Rifts come in different rarities. You can run into Magic, Rare, and at the top, Mythic Rifts. Those are incredibly rare and can only appear in Torment difficulty.
Before this fix, players could clear a Mythic Rift and walk away without the guaranteed Mythic item, and that felt… less than mythic. Now, those rare encounters always pay off.
The Bigger Picture
- Mythic Rifts remain ultra-rare, so this won’t flood the loot pool. But it does make the hunt more exciting.
- You have another way to farm Mythic Uniques that is not just spamming bosses. Chaos Rifts are very fun, so it is much more exciting to know you can actually get something like a Mythic Unique from those.
- The guaranteed reward reinforces the idea that pushing into higher-end content should feel worth it, a balance Blizzard has been working on with both Chaos mechanics and Infernal Hordes.
- It also adds more long-term value to farming Torment.
It is just a single line in the patch notes, but for Diablo 4 players heading into Season 10, this change makes a big difference. Mythic Rifts are now truly mythic, turning one of the season’s rarest finds into one of its most rewarding.
