<p>There was some concern in the Barbarian community after the release of patch 1.4.1 notes earlier today. The notes made it seem like the Bash build was being nerfed, moving the multiplicative bonuses to additive. However, Adam Fletcher has now clarified that is not the case, and that the notes are being corrected! </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Who is Akarat?</h2>



<p>Akarat is a central figure in the lore of the Diablo series. He was an ascetic from Xiansai and the founder of the Zakarum faith. Akarat experienced visions of the angel Yaerius, which he interpreted as divine guidance. These visions inspired his teachings that emphasized resisting evil and embracing the Light.</p>



<p>Akarat&#8217;s journey to spread his faith led to the establishment of the Zakarum religion, a dominant force in the world of Sanctuary. Inspired by Akarat&#8217;s teachings, the Zakarum church played a crucial role in containing the Prime Evils. His pilgrimage took him to Kehjistan and eventually the Torajan Jungles, where he mysteriously disappeared.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Neyrelle&#8217;s Mission</h2>



<p>The story picks up after the events of the Diablo 4 main campaign. In the trailer, Neyrelle is seen traveling on a boat, holding the Sapphire Soulstone containing Mephisto, on her way to find Akarat&#8217;s tomb. But why is this tomb so important?</p>



<p>Neyrelle believes that Akarat&#8217;s tomb may hold the key to stopping the return of the Prime Evils. It is rumored to contain powerful artifacts and vital knowledge crucial for her quest.</p>



<p>Will Neyrelle&#8217;s mission be successful? We&#8217;ll find out when the game releases on October 8th.</p>


Vessel of Hatred: Who’s Akarat?


<p>The Story of Vessel of Hatred will pick up from the conclusion of the main game, taking us into the overgrown jungles of Nahantu, a region once explored in Diablo 2, as well as the barren desert of Teganze. At the heart of this upcoming expansion lies Neyrelle, in possession of the soulstone, who fights with Mephisto’s influence as she travels deeper into Nahantu.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Do We Know About This Zone?</h2>



<p>Known to the locals as Nahantu and to outsiders as the Torajan Jungles, this region includes some deep-seated lore.</p>



<p>Fans of Diablo 2 may recall exploring this zone, visiting landmarks like the City of Kurast and the Travincal Temple. These iconic locations, central to the &#8220;Nahantu&#8221; of Diablo 2, will most likely make a comeback in &#8220;Vessel of Hatred.&#8221;</p>

<p><strong>Kurast was featured in Act III of Diablo 2</strong>. It is a port city that became a sanctuary for its people following the Children of Zakarum&#8217;s evil takeover. During our journey through D2, we had to navigate this jungle filled with monsters and demons to fight the schemes of the three Prime Evils. Eventually, this pursuit led to the Durance of Hate, where a showdown with Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, awaited.</p>



<p>Although the previews mostly showcase lush jungle landscapes, <strong>the Nahantu region also includes the vast desert of Teganze</strong>. Therefore, we can anticipate that there will be plenty of expansive desert terrain alongside the verdant jungles.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Location and Potential Entry Points</h2>



<p>Located just south of Kehjistan, the Diablo 4 map we see in-game reveals two possible connections to the south, hinting at the location of our entry points to Nahantu.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Expansion Pets Named After Notable NPCs From Diablo 2</h2>



<p>Another interesting fact is that the pets included in the pre-order edition of “Vessel of Hatred,&#8221; as well as those bundled with the deluxe and ultimate editions, are all named after memorable NPCs from the Kurast of Diablo 2:</p>

<li><strong>Hratli</strong>: A priest and blacksmith at the Kurast Docks, Hratli is celebrated for his high-quality armors. His role is vital in fortifying the town’s defenses and guiding players through important quests.</li>



<li><strong>Natalya</strong>: An enigmatic figure, Natalya provides insights into the ongoing adventure, observing the player’s progress and offering context for their quests, but without direct involvement.</li>



<li><strong>Alkor</strong>: As the potion master and gambler of Kurast Docks, Alkor not only supplies vital potions but also engages the player in a quest that rewards increased life.</li>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Which Monsters Will We Fight in Nahantu?</h2>



<p>With our return to the dense jungles of Kurast within Nahantu, in “The Vessel of Hatred,&#8221; we can speculate on what type of monsters we might encounter during our travels. It makes sense to assume that enemies like Flesh Beasts, Thorned Hulks, and various Flayers may make their return. Moreover, the murky dungeons could once again house Water Watchers and other swampy horrors. And the Kurast Bazaar as well as other familiar places might still echo with the incantations of Zakarum Zealots and Priests.</p>



<p>As we progress deeper into Nahantu, we will undoubtedly encounter various challenging enemies, culminating in an epic battle against Mephisto, the lord of hatred and notorious overlord of this domain.</p>

Diablo 4 Season 4 Mid-Season Patch Notes (1.4.3)


<p>Blizzard have dived in to some juicy upcoming updates to Diablo 4! We&#8217;re getting the mid-season update for Loot Reborn next week, with the patch notes coming this Friday. But that&#8217;s not all, as the Season 5 PTR will be coming after that, with a Campfire stream to talk about the new season as well. </p>

<p>Hello Wanderers</p>
<p>We first want to start by thanking everyone for jumping into Season 4 and experiencing the revamped systems introduced with Loot Reborn. We are also thrilled to see the excitement around Vessel of Hatred where we announced the release date of October 8th this past weekend at the Xbox Showcase. We are excited to share more as we head toward launch, and you all can expect more information on July 18 when we do a deep dive into the Spiritborn class coming with the expansion.</p>
<p>We want to take some time to provide some clarity and updates on a flurry of things heading to Diablo IV in the upcoming weeks.</p>
<p>The next update hitting Season 4 will be our mid-season patch. As you all know, mid-season patches include a ton of significant updates to the game related to class balance and more.</p>
<p>We will be releasing patch notes for the mid-season update (Patch 1.4.3) this coming <strong>Friday (June 14)</strong> and will be releasing the update sometime next week.</p>
<p>Typically we host a livestream for our mid-season updates, but we instead will be hosting a separate livestream next week on <strong>Friday (June 21)</strong> to talk about the next season in our Season 5 PTR Campfire Chat. We will have more information on that soon.</p>
<p>Originally we had our mid-season update coming after this PTR concluded, but we agreed releasing the mid-season update prior to the PTR would be better for all players.</p>
<p>Why is that? Well, the Season 5 PTR would have some of these changes coming with the mid-season update, and we didn’t want to create any type of whiplash for players as they go from finishing the PTR back to Season 4. Due to this, we believe delivering the mid-season update sooner will be the best for everyone.</p>
<p>As you can see there is a ton going on in the world of Sanctuary. We look forward to sharing more in the upcoming weeks and will have more information on Season 5 PTR including stream times and more next week.</p>

Season 4 Mid-Season Patch Coming Next Week, Season 5 PTR Soon After


<p>In Diablo 4, Uber Unique items can easily go unnoticed in your inventory if you don&#8217;t pay close attention, potentially for weeks.</p>



<p>Uber Uniques in Diablo 4 should come with a distinctive audio or visual cue when they drop. Players have reported finding these rare items in their inventory weeks after they initially dropped, simply because they didn&#8217;t realize they had picked one up.</p>

<p>A straightforward visual cue, like a red beam on the minimap similar to Diablo 3&#8217;s indicator for Primal Ancients, would greatly help players distinguish Uber Uniques from regular items.</p>

<p>The reports keep coming in! One player only discovered they had looted a Uber Unique during an inventory review, missing out on that &#8220;YES OMG YES&#8221; moment when the item originally dropped.</p>



<p>The worst-case scenario is accidentally salvaging a Uber Unique without realizing it, as these items aren&#8217;t excluded from the &#8220;<strong>Salvage All</strong>&#8221; option at the Blacksmith!</p>

<p>Everyone gets a free dog upon logging in (and completing a quest), and one of the pre-oder bonuses for the Vessel of Hatred Expansion is three separate pets as well:</p>

Vessel of Hatred Going Live on October 8th


<p>Vessel of Hatred datamining hints at a new Spiritborn class, new skills for all classes, the return of Mercenaries, raids, and more!</p>



<p>Back when Diablo 4 was in endgame Beta, Blizzard forgot to change the encryption key on the Vessel of Hatred development branch, which allowed <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/Diablo/comments/17oa6i8/vessel_of_hatred_datamined_info/">anyone who participated in the Beta to download the 2.0 client</a>.</p>



<p>As a result, a lot of details about Diablo 4&#8217;s expansion have been datamined through file names.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Disclaimer</h2>



<p>Keep in mind everything posted could eventually change, as Vessel of Hatred has been in development for quite a long time now and the dataming data may no longer be 100% accurate.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">New Spiritborn Class</h2>



<p>Spiritborn, the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-sixth-class-speculations/">mysterious sixth class</a>, was accidentally revealed through artwork which was later removed. Spiritborn is a nature-themed knight. Fortunately, we saved the removed artwork and you can find the Spiritborn at the very top.</p>
