<p>Starting July 1, World of Warcraft players will receive the <strong>Collector&#8217;s Bounty</strong> buff as part of the returning <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/wow/a-greedy-emissary-and-winds-of-the-sanctuary-event-guide">Greedy Emissary event</a>, a limited-time Diablo 4 x WoW crossover! </p>



<p>This event brings more than just a themed celebration. For players chasing Legacy Loot like rare mounts and transmog, the real reward is what appears to be the introduction of <strong>double loot opportunities in Legacy content</strong>.</p>

<p>While Blizzard hasn&#8217;t officially clarified what this buff entails, we speculate based on the description that it will will allow players to defeat the same boss twice in a row.</p>

Diablo 4 Turns 2: Anniversary Event Brings New Reliquary Rewards and the Mother’s Blessing Buff


<p>We have some extreme loot luck to check out once more! A Kurast Undercity tribute run turned out to pay out more than bargained for! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">That&#8217;s a Lot of Purple! </h2>



<p>We&#8217;ve all been happy to see the Unique quality Tribute of Ascendance drop out in the world. The &#8220;increased chances of a Mythic Unique&#8221; text is always alluring. However, the purple drop is far from guaranteed, as players have used plenty of them with nothing to show for it. Well, today one player had a VERY different experience. </p>



<p><a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/MrPetramen/">MrPetramen</a> went for a solo Undercity run with the tribute in hand. But nobody could have expected the extreme level of luck that was attached to that tribute, as not one, but two Mythics dropped! </p>

<p>As many commenters mentioned, with that level of luck, you&#8217;d expect the drops to be the worst Mythics for those slots, Andariel and Selig. Well, they were half right! While the insta-salvage <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Amulets_48.webp" alt="Melted Heart of Selig"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Amulet" data-item-quality="mythic">Melted Heart of Selig</span></span></a> was indeed present, so was a <a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_Items_Helms_Generic_20.webp" alt="Harlequin Crest"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Helm" data-item-quality="mythic">Harlequin Crest</span></span></a>! And the helm even actually needed for a build too. </p>



<p>There has been a lot of discussion since the expansion on whether better loot awaits in the Undercity if you run a tribute with a group vs. running it alone. And while this can&#8217;t be considered proof since RNG is RNG, at least we know the extreme ends of the curve happen solo as well. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Three in a Row?</h2>



<p>There was also a comment in the above thread claiming some possible even better luck than this! <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/ItchyNarwhal8192/">ItchyNarwhal8192</a> joined in the Tribute of Ascendancy discussion and mentioned their own extreme luck in this department. And while MrPetramen&#8217;s loot luck was very focused to one run, ItchyNarwhal&#8217;s was spread out over three back-to-back runs! </p>

<p>There&#8217;s no screenshot or similar to back this claim up, so it&#8217;s a little less credible, but we generally don&#8217;t see why players would make this stuff up. Two of the three actually being usable is also very good luck. </p>



<p>And if you&#8217;re commenting on the number of Greater Affixes on Mythic Uniques as being &#8220;only 1 star&#8221;, you know you&#8217;re a lucky one! How has your purple luck been this season?</p>

<p>A powerful new teleport mechanic introduced in Diablo 4&#8217;s Season 9 lets players speed-farm across all classes and the community now hopes Blizzard won&#8217;t nerf it!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How It Works</h2>



<p>In Season 9, players can essentially create their own spells through Horadric Spellcraft. You start off with what&#8217;s called a <strong>Catalyst</strong>, the base of your spell. Then, you use <strong>Infusions</strong> that change the elemental damage type and the function of your Catalyst.<strong> </strong>Finally, you&#8217;ve got <strong>Arcanas</strong> that let you overcome some downsides of your class.</p>



<p>This specific teleport trick involves selecting <strong>Propulsion</strong> as your catalyst, then combining it with the <strong>Floaty Bubble</strong> and <strong>Bloody Charm</strong> infusions.</p>



<p>This combo gives near-permanent teleports! All Necromancer Changes Coming in Diablo 4 Season 9 (Patch 2.3.0)


<p>We have some new experience farming methods coming with the Sins of the Horadrim! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The XP Affix</h2>



<p>Season 9 brings new Nightmare Dungeon sigil affixes, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/xp-wells-shrine-spam-gold-goblins-nmd-affixes-in-season-9/">all of which you can find here</a>. They have the usual negative affixes, but some also have positive ones. One of these is the Forgotten Wisdom affix. It makes mobs drop orbs, which grant experience based on your level. </p>

<p>Unfortunately, you can&#8217;t really make good use of these on your first character, as you&#8217;ll have to stockpile a few with that specific affix to get things going. They&#8217;ll still be a nice find if they drop, but one dungeon isn&#8217;t going to get you to 60. But 6.5 will! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A Solid Way to Level Alts</h2>



<p><a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/CulturalNinja6/">CulturalNinja6</a> took a poke at leveling up a second character using only these NMDs. After gathering up enough sigils with Forgotten Wisdom, the testing began. It took one and a half hours of not extremely optimized dungeon running to get the new character from level 1 to 60. Six and a half dungeons were run in succession, clearing pretty much everything in them, since it&#8217;s the monsters that drop the extra XP. </p>



<p>There&#8217;s even charts of the level progression, as well as how much XP the orbs give based on your current level! It seems the peak is around level 30, where each orb is around 7% of a level. As for endgame paragon farming, the orbs give 1.68% of a level at 60. </p>

<p>Now, the speediest way to level alts is still gathering Whisper Caches from Torment difficulties and saving them. This method usually gets a new character to 60 in under a minute, but you&#8217;ll need a solid chunk of the caches, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-player-reaches-level-60-in-one-minute-using-tree-of-whispers-chests/">as you can see here</a>. </p>



<p>So if you want to save your caches for your main or are just looking for a different way to level an alt, keep an eye out for those Forgotten Wisdom dungeon affixes and save them up! </p>

All Rogue Changes Coming in Diablo 4 Season 9 (Patch 2.3.0)


<p>Players have been poking around the Sins of the Horadrim Public Test Realm for a few days now, taking a look at the new features the season brings. The main focus of the season is the Nightmare Dungeon rework. And a big part of that is the Escalating Dungeons. However, players currently aren&#8217;t too pleased with how this is turning out on the PTR. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Not a Lot of Escalating Going On</h2>



<p>The idea behind Escalating Dungeons is to string three NMDs together and make them more of a connected challenge. And there&#8217;s a boss at the end! They&#8217;re meant to be an additional endgame activity. However, what players are seeing on the PTR is just a pretty standard three NMDs back-to-back, with not much more to it. </p>



<p>The escalation part seems to only involve adding more NMD affixes. That&#8217;s pretty much it. You finish one dungeon, a portal for the next one opens up, and the next one then has two affixes. Same thing with the third with three affixes. </p>

<p>Unfortunately, as an endgame activity, most players breeze through the dungeons very quickly. The affixes don&#8217;t really mean much, as the enemies die fast. Adding one or two more isn&#8217;t as relevant as making the enemies themselves more difficult. Having to face Astaroth at the end does add some variety, as he&#8217;s a brand new boss (<a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/two-bosses-in-one-astaroth-and-amalgam-return-in-season-9/">or two, really</a>), but the three dungeons preceding that aren&#8217;t anything special. </p>

<p>This may be an issue of over-gearing on the PTR, as players have access to very high-quality items. However, Nightmare Dungeons get pretty easy pretty fast once you get to your chosen Torment difficulty, mainly being Obducite farms. </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Random Affixes</h2>



<p>Another thing players noticed with the Escalating system is that it doesn&#8217;t actually &#8220;stack&#8221; affixes from dungeon to dungeon. What happens when you move from the first to the second and second to third dungeon is that the two/three affixes just get re-rolled. So you&#8217;re not really adding to your previous affixes, but rather getting random new ones each time you move to the next dungeon. </p>

<p>This isn&#8217;t really a big issue, but it does take away from the coherency of the set of dungeons, as you feel you&#8217;re just doing three random dungeons back-to-back, instead of a single escalating experience. </p>



<p>It&#8217;s always important to note that this is still only the PTR, and Blizzard are looking for exactly this type of feedback from the players. These types of things can get fixed after  the issues are pointed out during testing, so let&#8217;s see how the Escalation system works out in the end! </p>


Diablo 4 Season 9’s Escalating Dungeons Aren’t Quite Escalated


<p>A dedicated Diablo 4 player has completed 99 runs of the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/kurast-undercity-guide/">Kurast Undercity</a> and shared a detailed breakdown of their loot on <a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/diablo4/comments/1knhkif/i_did_99x_tribute_of_harmony_runes_kurast/">Reddit</a>!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Total Time Spent and Run Times</h2>



<p>Reddit user <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/GaunerHarakiri/">GaunerHarakiri</a> spent nearly 4 hours completing the 99 runs, specifically, the session took 3 hours, 37 minutes, and 33 seconds, including time spent at the Blacksmith.</p>



<p>Individual runs averaged at 2 minutes and 11 seconds, with the fastest completed in just 1 minute and 52 seconds.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Paragon XP Gains</h2>



<p>The player started at Paragon 261 and gained approximately 1.5 levels over the course of the runs. Notably, the final 49 runs were completed during the Mother&#8217;s Blessing Event, which provided a +35% XP bonus.</p>
