<p>In the <a href="https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/article/24222917/diablo-iv-patch-notes" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Season 10 patch notes</a>, Blizzard quietly dropped a line that is way bigger than it looks:</p>



<p><em>&#8220;Chaos Armor world drops are now an additional reward instead of replacing a Unique.&#8221;</em></p>



<p>That means whenever Chaos Armor drops, it no longer blocks a Unique from showing up – it can simply drop on top of it. More loot, more chances at upgrades, and way more clutter.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Chaos Armor Just Got Better</h2>



<p><a href="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/diablo-4-season-10-chaos-armor-explained-full-unique-list/">Chaos Armor</a> is already one of the best parts of Season 10. These twisted Uniques:</p>



<ul>
<li>Show up in extra slots like Helm, Chest, Gloves, Pants, and Boots</li>



<li>Always roll with max Aspect power</li>



<li>Come with at least one Greater Affix</li>



<li>Stand out with their own name color</li>
</ul>

<p>With this change, every world drop will feel even juicier – and it also increases the chances on how much loot you can walk away with.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">More Loot, Same Old Stash</h2>



<p>Of course, that win comes with a problem players know all too well: stash space.</p>

<li>A single Torment run already fills your inventory in no time</li>



<li>Now you have Chaos Armor on top of Uniques competing for room</li>



<li>Players have begged for stash upgrades since launch, and this update makes the issue impossible to ignore</li>
</ul>



<p>Blizzard deserves credit for making Chaos Armor feel rewarding instead of replacing Uniques, but unless stash space expands soon, Season 10 could turn into a battle not just against demons – but against your own overflowing stash (once again)&#8230;</p>

Diablo 4 Buffs Chaos Armor… But Stash Space Still Sucks


<p>Blizzard is handing out another free cosmetic in Diablo 4 – this time it is the Hewer&#8217;s Halberd, a two-handed weapon skin for the Barbarian. You can grab it easily through Twitch Drops, but the window is rather short.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Twitch Drop Schedule</h2>



<ul>
<li><strong>Start:</strong> September 23 at 10 a.m. PDT</li>



<li><strong>End:</strong> September 26 at 10 a.m. PDT</li>



<li><strong>Requirement: </strong>Watch at least 2 hours of eligible <a href="https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/diablo-iv" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4 streams</a> with Twitch Drops enabled</li>
</ul>



<p>That is all it takes to secure the cosmetic, no farming required.</p>

<li><strong>Link your accounts: </strong>Connect your Twitch and Battle.net accounts <a href="https://account.battle.net/connections" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">here</a>.</li>



<li><strong>Watch streams:</strong> Find <a href="https://www.twitch.tv/directory/category/diablo-iv" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4 streams</a> with the &#8220;Drops Enabled&#8221; tag.</li>



<li><strong>Earn the drop:</strong> Watch 2 hours and look for the notification on Twitch, or check your <a href="https://www.twitch.tv/drops/inventory" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Drops inventory</a>.</li>



<li><strong>Redeem in-game:</strong> Log into the Battle.net launcher, and the Hewer&#8217;s Halberd will be added to your Diablo 4 account.</li>

<p>Even if you are not a regular Twitch viewer, this drop is an easy win, as it provides you with an easy way to get a cosmetic weapon for your Barbarian character! Diablo 4 Players Can Unlock a New Free Cosmetic Next Week


<p>Chaos Rifts are the big new seasonal mechanic in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4&#8217;s Season 10</a>, but one <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-season-10-reveals-massive-class-buffs" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">patch note fix</a> might have just made them even more exciting. Thanks to a change that guarantees Mythic Chaos Rifts will always reward a Mythic item, players now have a new reason to hunt down these ultra-rare encounters, and they could become one of the best ways to farm top-tier loot this season!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Changed</h2>



<p>Hidden in the Season 10 patch notes is a small but important line: </p>



<p>&#8220;<em>Fixed an issue where the Mythic Chaos Rift did not always reward a Mythic item upon completion.</em>&#8220;</p>



<p>In other words, <strong>Mythic Chaos Rifts will now guarantee a Mythic drop</strong> every time you finish one.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why Is This Important</h2>



<p>Chaos Rifts are one of the main focus of Season 10&#8217;s seasonal mechanic. They can spawn in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/helltide-guide" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Helltides</a> and <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/nightmare-dungeon-guide" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Nightmare Dungeons</a>, offering rewards like:</p>



<ul>
<li>Seasonal Reputation</li>



<li>Infernal Warp (to level up Chaos Perks, this season&#8217;s powers)</li>



<li>Gems, XP, and loot</li>



<li>Chaos Armor (Torment difficulty only)</li>
</ul>



<p>Rifts come in different rarities. You can run into Magic, Rare, and at the top, <strong>Mythic Rifts</strong>. Those are incredibly rare and can only appear in Torment difficulty. </p>



<p>Before this fix, players could clear a Mythic Rift and walk away without the guaranteed Mythic item, and that felt&#8230; less than mythic. Now, those rare encounters always pay off.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">The Bigger Picture</h2>



<ul>
<li>Mythic Rifts remain ultra-rare, so this won&#8217;t flood the loot pool. But it does make the hunt more exciting. </li>



<li>You have another way to farm Mythic Uniques that is not just spamming bosses. Chaos Rifts are very fun, so it is much more exciting to know you can actually get something like a Mythic Unique from those.</li>



<li>The guaranteed reward reinforces the idea that <strong>pushing into higher-end content should feel worth it</strong>, a balance Blizzard has been working on with both Chaos mechanics and Infernal Hordes.</li>



<li>It also adds more long-term value to farming Torment.</li>
</ul>



<p>It is just a single line in the patch notes, but for Diablo 4 players heading into Season 10, this change makes a big difference. Mythic Rifts are now truly mythic, turning one of the season&#8217;s rarest finds into one of its most rewarding.</p>


Are Chaos Rifts the New Best Way to Farm Mythics in Diablo 4?


<p>Blizzard admits Chaos Waves in <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/infernal-hordes-guide" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Infernal Hordes</a> were fun but risked overwhelming the mode&#8217;s purpose, buildcraft and varied runs. In their own words, <em>&#8220;if they appear too often, they begin to crowd out the core identity of buildcraft that the mode is known for.</em>&#8221; </p>



<p>To keep Chaos Waves exciting and prevent them from dominating every run, Season 10 brings several changes:</p>



<ul>
<li><strong>Reduced Frequency</strong>
<ul>
<li>Chaos Waves per Infernal Horde run are now cut down to 1 / 1-2 / 2, depending on the length of the run (6/8/10 waves).</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>More Unpredictability</strong>
<ul>
<li>They no longer spawn at fixed intervals, making appearances less predictable.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>Rarity Tweaks</strong>
<ul>
<li>Specific Chaos Wave types, such as Aether Goblins, will now be rarer.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>Reliquary Adjustments</strong>
<ul>
<li>Aether on-kill chance in the Reliquary Chaos Wave lowered from <strong>25% to 10%</strong>.</li>



<li>Reliquary no longer drops if you are immune when Chaos Lightning hits.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>Quality-of-Life Updates</strong>
<ul>
<li>Spirit Chaos Wave ghosts respond better to collisions, and the Aetheric Mass can no longer be healed (Blizzard jokes it is &#8220;<em>surprisingly ticklish</em>&#8220;).</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Lunatic Siege Chaos Wave</h2>



<p>One of the best variants, the Lunatic Siege, saw targeted improvements to make it more rewarding:</p>



<ul>
<li>Chaos Rifts drop more Aether.</li>



<li>Max Aether from a full-health Aetheric Mass raised from <strong>80 to 200</strong>.</li>



<li>Closing Chaos Rifts can now spawn new ones, steadily ramping up intensity.</li>
</ul>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Wider Infernal Horde Changes</h2>



<p>Chaos Waves were not the only aspect Blizzard touched in Season 10. Infernal Hordes as a whole have been overhauled to make Aether gains more consistent and rewarding.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Base Aether Adjustments</h3>



<ul>
<li><strong>More baseline Aether</strong>
<ul>
<li>Aether Masses (1 → 3), Aether Fiends (2 → 4), and Soulspires (1 → 5) now grant more Aether.</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li><strong>Aether Goblins slightly nerfed</strong> (25 → 20 Aether).</li>
</ul>



<p>The developers added that this should make &#8220;<em>blasting monsters</em>&#8221; more impactful, rather than relying solely on lucky Infernal Offering rolls.</p>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Aetheric Masses</h3>



<ul>
<li>Spawn chances for Teeming, Hellish, and Anchored Masses boosted (30% → 50%).</li>



<li>&#8220;Puffing Masses&#8221; now drop bonus Aether per Offering selected.</li>



<li>New mechanics for &#8220;Massing Masses&#8221; and scaling Hellborne spawns to make runs more dynamic.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Soulspires</h3>



<p>Blizzard admits Soulspires were underwhelming before, and now they are much more fun and exciting:</p>



<ul>
<li>Rising Spires can appear twice per run instead of once.</li>



<li>Draining Spires now grant 3 Aether instead of 1.</li>



<li>Precious, Treasured, and Coveted Spires have rebalanced multipliers and rarity to better reflect the boosted base Aether.</li>



<li>Corrupting Spires reworked into <strong>Hungry Spires</strong>, pulling enemies and players inward and increasing Aether drops.</li>



<li>Reworked Rising Spires now spawn one at the start of each wave, empowering enemies inside.</li>
</ul>



<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Fiends, Lords, and Hellborne</h3>



<ul>
<li>Colossal Fiends and Fiendish Legions now properly interact to spawn Aether Lords.</li>



<li>Hellborne rarity rebalanced. 
<ul>
<li>Summoned Hellborne moved to Legendary</li>



<li>Ambushing Hellborne to Common</li>
</ul>
</li>



<li>Summoned Hellborne spawns toned down (20% chance vs 100% before).</li>

<p>Chaos Waves are not gone, but they are no longer the centerpiece of every Infernal Horde run compared to Season 10 PTR. Instead, these balance changes bring them back to being a chaotic, rare treat and not the main event. </p>



<p>Combined with wider Aether and Offering changes, <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Diablo 4</a>&#8216;s endgame grind this season should now feel less luck-dependent and more consistently rewarding.</p>

<p>In the <a href="https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/article/24226702/rally-against-hell-in-season-of-infernal-chaos" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">latest blog post</a> that just went live earlier today, Blizzard has revealed which parts of Diablo 4&#8217;s upcoming Season 10 will stick around for good – and which ones will vanish once the season ends.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Will Stay After Season 10</h2>



<p>The devs confirmed that several <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/infernal-hordes-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Infernal Hordes</a> updates are becoming permanent, affecting both Seasonal and Eternal realms. These include:</p>

<li>Chaos Waves</li>



<li>Fell Council changes</li>



<li>A new Bartuc boss fight</li>



<li>Adjustments to base offerings</li>



<li>New Uniques for each class</li>



<li>Changes to lair boss invulnerability phases</li>

Here is the rundown of the biggest changes and features coming with the season.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Season Theme: Infernal Chaos</h2>



<p>The boundaries between Sanctuary and the Burning Hells are collapsing. Mephisto&#8217;s influence has unleashed the Fell Council, bringing new Chaos Rifts across the world. These rifts spawn destructive forces and tie directly into the seasonal progression system.</p>



<p>Players will take on a new Seasonal Questline to uncover the Council&#8217;s plot and stop their attacks.</p>

<li><strong>Chaos Armor</strong> &#8211; New powerful gear pieces that drop from multiple sources, with a guaranteed drop from Bartuc on higher Torment tiers.</li>



<li><strong>Chaos Perks</strong> &#8211; Seasonal progression system with Magic, Rare, Legendary, and Unique Perks, unlocked by sealing Chaos Rifts and defeating enemies.</li>



<li><strong>Infernal Warp</strong> &#8211; Earned by closing Chaos Rifts and used to upgrade Chaos Perks.</li>



<li><strong>Bartuc, Lord of Chaos</strong> &#8211; A new boss fight, with guaranteed Chaos Armor drops in Torment III-IV and a chance in I-II.</li>



<li><strong><a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/infernal-hordes-guide" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Infernal Hordes Updates</a></strong> &#8211; Combat has been reworked with more balanced Infernal Offerings and a faster entrance into the Hordes.</li>

<p>Blizzard also outlined several adjustments made since the 2.4.0 PTR:</p>

<li><strong>Infernal Offerings</strong> have been rebalanced so every choice feels valid, not just the Hellborne wave.</li>



<li><strong>Infernal Hordes door</strong> opens faster, letting players jump into the chaos more quickly.</li>



<li><strong>Bartuc&#8217;s invulnerability phase</strong> can now only trigger after 10 seconds of the fight.</li>



<li><strong>Chaos Armor visuals</strong> updated with unique name colors and distinct slot behavior.</li>



<li><strong>Chaos Rifts in Nightmare Dungeons</strong> now match <strong>Helltide rewards</strong>, with stacking portal hits no longer increasing total damage taken.</li>

<p>Some seasonal content could stick around for the long run. During a recent <a href="https://www.wowhead.com/diablo-4/news/seasonal-content-could-return-permanently-in-the-future-diablo-4-season-10-378490?utm_source=bsky&amp;utm_medium=social&amp;utm_campaign=250911&amp;utm_content=d4_seasonal_content" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Twitter/X post answer spotted by Wowhead</a>, Director of Social &amp; Content Marketing Adam Fletcher hinted that the team is thinking about keeping, or even evolving, popular seasonal features in future updates.</p>

<p>When asked if elements like the Chaos Armor would remain beyond their original season, Fletcher said: </p>



<p>&#8220;<em>I know the team wants to keep things or maybe evolve things even more if they work well. But will caveat that those may not be immediately kept or available the next season etc</em>.&#8221;</p>



<p>In other words, popular seasonal mechanics could become semi-permanent or evolve over time, even if they are not guaranteed for the very next season. For players who loved the Chaos Armor or other previous seasonal features, it is a promising hint that these additions might actually make it to the game again in the future.</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Season 10 Livestream Revamp</h2>



<p>Fletcher also confirmed that the upcoming Season 10 livestream has a new format.
