Diablo 4 Players Are Asking for… More Character Slots?

With all the Tempering and Masterworking problems, plus other ongoing issues, Diablo 4 players have also been talking about some more chill and fun topics. One of them? The current 14 character slots, and if that is enough, especially with six classes available (soon to be seven with the 2026 expansion) and four game “modes” (Seasonal SC, Seasonal HC, Eternal SC, Eternal HC).

Just Not Enough Space

Some players say it is already tight if you want to play every class in every mode. One user pointed out that having all 6 classes in Eternal SC and HC already uses up 12 of 14 slots, leaving just 2 for new seasonal characters.

For completionists, who want to try every class in every mode, this could mean needing up to 28 slots once the new expansion launches.

Community Suggestions

Players have one simple suggestion: adding more character slots, introducing seasonal “rebirth” options (similar to Diablo 3), or letting Eternal characters pass on their gear to new ones.

Others argue it is easy enough to delete old characters each season and start new, with one user joking, “Blizzard, I’m doing something completely pointless. Please accommodate my pointless behavior.”

However, with the 2026 expansion adding a new class, the conversation remains valid. Some players like to go back to play on their Eternal characters once they are done with the new season, and they should not have to pick which character they want to delete.

Another Slot Problem

On top of that, players also reminded Blizzard that they want more stash and inventory tabs. Right now, the inventory feels extremely limited, especially given the massive amount of gear and items you have to pick up each season.

It is unknown if Blizzard will listen, but the discussion shows just how invested Diablo 4 players are in every aspect of the game, even the smallest.
