Diablo 4‘s Infernal Hordes mode is becoming a frustrating experience for some players, not because of difficulty, but due to a new trend of party trolling.
According to a recent Reddit thread, multiple users are reporting that random party leaders are kicking everyone from the group right before the final boss wave, essentially erasing all their progress and denying them rewards.
There does not appear to be any personal gain for the kicker, making the behavior purely griefing. Many believe this is part of a wider trend of toxic play encouraged by the lack of safeguards in the game’s multiplayer mechanics.
Some Tips to Avoid Being Trolled
- Host the group yourself. If you make the party, random people will join but can not kick you.
- Play solo. Infernal Hordes are fully soloable, and you will avoid any toxic interactions.
- Use “appear offline” mode. This minimizes unwanted invites and trolling behavior.
Most players seem to argue that Diablo 4 is better played solo or with friends, due to the increasing number of trolls and the absence of meaningful in-game protections.
So until Blizzard adds better party controls or penalties for griefing, you might want to stick to solo runs or carefully known friend groups, especially if you are grinding Infernal Hordes for endgame loot.
