It’s Time: We Need Account-Wide and Season-Persisting Waypoints

That’s right, it’s the old rallying call! Ever since Season 1, players have wanted to have their unlocked waypoints carry over. Whether its from Eternal to Seasonal or from season to season, we really need a better way to get around Sanctuary.

9 Is a Lot

We’re in Season 9 now. Something as basic and trivial as unlocking waypoints is really more of a chore now. Perhaps in the past, there was an argument to be had about exploring the world and not just fast-traveling all over the place. But two years after the game’s launch, the world is very much explored, and we’re very much tired of having to run around unlocking things we’ve already unlocked, well, nine times. This isn’t even mentioning the annoyance of playing multiple characters!

It’s simply time to unlock them by default for everyone. Or at least for those who finished/skipped the campaign.

There are many, many, MANY community posts on this throughout the seasons. Just recently, we had several complaining about the issue, like the ones below.

Strongholds are a bit of a different issue, however. While some may want them to be unlocked as well (especially since some of them also hold waypoints themselves), this isn’t quite the same as the waypoint issue. Players are still using them to level, and plenty actually enjoy their little stories over and over again. So, Strongholds probably shouldn’t be unlocked by default, but an option to do so would be nice.
