<p>A damage-scaling issue was discovered with <strong>Crown of Lucion</strong> . The item will be temporarily disabled and will return in an upcoming update. As always, we appreciate the share of discoveries and we will be quick to provide updates on when we’ll have the item back up for players to use.</p>

The Crown of Lucion Unique Will Be Enabled in Patch 2.2.1


<p>A Diablo 4 player has built a custom simulator to help players understand how much it really costs to masterwork gear in the game.</p>

<p>Reddit user <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/Icytroll93/">Icytroll93</a> shared their project on Reddit, where they explained how they wrote a script to simulate common masterworking strategies.</p>



<p>The script runs thousands of gear upgrade attempts to calculate average material costs and the number of resets needed to get ideal results.</p>



<p>In Diablo 4, masterworking is used to boost item affixes. However, players often reroll items multiple times to land upgrades on specific affixes. Icytroll93&#8217;s tool simulates different scenarios, such as needing 2 out of 3 or 3 out of 3 upgrades to hit the desired affix, across both unique and legendary items, the latter with tempering included.</p>



<p>The post includes a set of histograms (shared via <a href="https://imgur.com/a/masterworking-costs-d4-s8-icytroll-7SaTZZY">Imgur</a>) showing the distribution of material costs for four common upgrade goals:</p>

This Diablo 4 Simulator Reveals Just How Expensive Masterworking Really Is

Blizzard is introducing a much-requested sink that gives the seasonal currency another purpose beyond <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/guides/boss-powers-guide/">boss power</a> upgrades! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">A New Vendor for Unused Spectral Ash</h2>



<p>After a <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-players-call-for-more-uses-for-spectral-ash-in-season-8/">week of feedback</a>, Blizzard has turned Sayeena into a functional vendor. Found near the Reputation Board in Tarsarak, Sayeena allows players to trade their excess <span class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip"><a class="icy-gtnbrg-link" href="#"><img decoding="async" class="icy-gtnbrg-tooltip-img" src="https://static.icy-veins.com/wp/static/d4/latest/images/icons/2DInventory_S8_BossPower_Currency_0.webp" alt="Spectral Ash"><span class="tooltip-spell-name" data-item-type="Currency" data-item-quality="normal">Spectral Ash</span></a></span> for Oath Scrolls. These scrolls grant Unveiler&#8217;s Oath reputation!</p>

Spectral Ash Finally Gets Use in Diablo 4’s Patch 2.2.1


<p>The Pit in Diablo 4 is supposed to be an endgame challenge, but many players feel it&#8217;s falling short on the excitement scale. Instead of offering a truly dynamic experience, it currently relies too heavy on basic health and damage-increasing modifiers. Let&#8217;s see what improvements the community has in mind for the feature!</p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Reddit Wants the Pit to Feel Deeper and Darker</h2>



<p>Reddit user <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/West_Watch5551/">West_Watch5551</a> created a thread on Reddit that has gained more than a hundred of upvotes, suggesting the Pit should evolve as players descend. It could grow darker and more oppressive, reflecting the journey deeper into Hell. In gameplay terms, non-elite enemies should drop off while Elite density ramps up, with increasingly dangerous modifiers stacking as you progress.</p>



<p>That kind of scaling wouldn&#8217;t just make the challenge tougher, it would make it more immersive and rewarding. The current method, which mostly inflates mob health and damage, feels flat by comparison.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Variety is a Major Missing Ingredient</h2>



<p>Another player, <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/MetaCardboard/">MetaCardboard</a>, highlighted a big difference between Diablo 3 and Diablo 4&#8217;s endgame: tile diversity. Greater Rifts in D3 rotated through various environments, which helped keep each run visually fresh. In contrast, the Pit uses only a handful of repeated tile sets, making repeated runs feel repetitive and predictable.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Why It Matters for Endgame Longevity</h2>



<p>Right now, players face the same textures, the same layouts, and increasingly tankier enemies. With a few key tweaks, Blizzard could transform the Pit into a real test of skill with the help of an evolving atmosphere, meaningful enemy modifiers, and map rotation, making each descent into the Pit feel like a true journey, not just another numbers check!</p>

Diablo 4’s Pit Needs More Than Just HP / Damage Scaling—Here’s What Players Want changed


<p>Here come some stats courtesy of the community! <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/CulturalNinja6/">CulturalNinja6</a> dove into some statistics yesterday and put together a quick overview of 150 Lair Boss kills and Hoard Chest openings! </p>



<h2 class="wp-block-heading">154 Runs, 0.94% GA</h2>



<p>While 150 runs certainly isn&#8217;t a big number, it&#8217;s still fun to take a look at some stats. So don&#8217;t take the below numbers as absolutely correct or confirmed, but rather as an overview of one player&#8217;s luck/streak. We have 20-30 kills of each Lair Boss, so let&#8217;s dive in! </p>

<p>We see the overall 15% aka 0.94 Greater Affix items per run, with the vast majority of them being one GA. <a href="https://www.reddit.com/user/CulturalNinja6/">CulturalNinja6</a> didn&#8217;t get lucky with any three or four GAs, but did manage to get four Mythic Uniques. Only eight 2 GA items were found. We also see the very poor Rune drop rate from the bosses (although they aren&#8217;t the primary source anyway), with just four Runes across all 154 runs. </p>



<p>Belial seems to be the go-to for Greater Affixes, with Duriel being the Mythic Unique man, and Zir is Mr. Rune. </p>

Rune, Mythic, and Greater Affix Item Drop Chances for Boss Runs


<p>It seems that the tiny patch that improved stability had a very destabilising effect on some players! After the recent update (not to be confused with the <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-2-2-1-notes-may-14th/">announced big patch for next week</a>), a few players are reporting their waypoints simply being disabled. Despite having unlocked them, they now have to run all over Sanctuary again to re-enable them! </p>

<p>And that&#8217;s not all, as it seems that for those who got their Waypoints deactivated, their Strongholds also got reset! So, despite having cleared them, they&#8217;re now back and active once more. This adds insult to injury for those players who may have specifically cleared certain Strongholds&#8230; for their Waypoints! But there&#8217;s some positives, as even some renown rewards were claimable once again! </p>

<p>While this isn&#8217;t exactly a game-breaking bug, it&#8217;s definitely very annoying. Especially so in this season, where teleporting around the map is crucial to get to those Apparition Incursions. So our condolences to the mounts of the players affected by this, as they&#8217;ll be getting a lot more mileage on them! </p>


Waypoints Removed and Strongholds Reset for Players After Patch


<p>Did you know you can still fast travel to Zir in Season 8?</p>



<p>To do it, open the world map and hover over <strong>The Darkened Way</strong> in Fractured peaks. Although no tooltip appears, you can press your interact button (e.g. <strong>&#8220;A&#8221; on Xbox</strong>) to switch map view to the Darkened Way zone.</p>



<p>From there, move your cursor toward the top-right area of the map. You&#8217;ll find Tormented Zir&#8217;s dungeon icon, which you can interact with to fast travel to Zir from anywhere in Sanctuary!</p>

You Can Still Fast Travel to Zir in Diablo 4 Season 8— Here’s How


<p>Blizzard has confirmed that <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-players-are-facing-major-infernal-hordes-ui-bugs-in-season-8/">fixes for the Infernal Hordes wave and Aether tracking issues</a> will arrive in Diablo 4 Patch 2.2.2. </p>



<p>Adam Fletcher shared the update ahead of <a href="https://www.icy-veins.com/d4/news/diablo-4-patch-2-2-1-notes-may-14th/">Patch 2.2.1</a>&#8216;s release on Wednesday, May 14, noting that the upcoming patch will not include this fix.</p>



<p>Players will need to wait until Patch 2.2.2., which is scheduled to go live <strong>some time after Patch 2.2.1</strong> hits live.</p>

Diablo 4 Patch 2.2.2. to Fix Internal Hordes Waves and Aether Tracking


<p>Players diving into the Diablo 4 x Berserk crossover might have noticed the peculiar new companion: the Schnoz pet. While it costs one third of the expansion, it has a very <em>distinct</em> idle animation.</p>



<p>A green glob of snot visibly droops from its oversized nose, only to be violently slurped back in a second later.</p>



<p>The official Diablo Twitter account has previewed the animation and you can play it below.</p>

Schnoz Pet in Diablo 4 x Berserk: Gross Animation, Hidden Bug Could Affect Your Choice


<p>Spiritborn are not doing great this season. The changes they received after their very broken launch with the expansion, and more after that have put them in last place among the classes. The top players only recently managed to break the Pit 100 barrier, with a 105 best, but are still sitting in dead-last place, 5 tiers below the next class.  </p>



<p>Luckily, there is help coming with next week&#8217;s patch, as the class received nothing but buffs and fixes! So, let&#8217;s take a look at the changes arriving on Wednesday, mostly focused on the Passives. </p>
