Take note, Warriors of Light! Nintendo has announced that prices on certain products and services will increase. Depending on your region, these changes come sooner rather than later. With the launch of the Final Fantasy XIV port for the Switch 2 coming in August, you may want to grab the console before the price changes come into effect.
Let’s take a look at how the price changes will affect players wanting to try FFXIV on the Switch 2. You can also review the changes yourself at the following notices from Nintendo:
- Nintendo Japan, US, Canada, and Europe Console Price Changes
- Nintendo Australia and New Zealand Switch 2 Price Changes
Nintendo Switch 2 Price Increase
If you were going to wait before committing to the purchase of a Switch 2 with FFXIV in mind, the adjusted prices will likely alter your plans. If you live in Japan, your plans may have changed significantly. Take a look at the planned price increases below:
| Region | Current Price | Revised Price | Date of Change |
| Japan* | ¥49,980 | ¥59,980 | May 25, 2026 |
| United States (tax not included) | $449.99 | $499.99 | September 1, 2026 |
| Canada (tax not included) | $629.99 | $679.99 | September 1, 2026 |
| Europe (tax included) | €469.99 | €499.99 | September 1, 2026 |
| Australia | $699.95 | $769.95 | September 1, 2026 |
| New Zealand | $799.95 | $969.95 | September 1, 2026 |
*Note that this change affects the Japanese-Language System only and the Nintendo Switch 2 Multi-Language System available from My Nintendo Store is unaffected.
The price change in Japan hits much sooner than in other regions around the world. Residents in Japan don’t have the time to wait for the FFXIV Switch 2 port to arrive first, even factoring in the early access period starting around July. Meanwhile, the other regions can decide to wait for the official release in August, if they wish. Even so, make sure you prepare accordingly!
