A jiggly greeting to you, Warriors of Light! Final Fantasy XIV‘s Dragon Quest X collaboration event, Breaking Brick Mountains, is returning once more. Notably, this means Eorzea’s most wobbly and jiggly hat will be available again! This time, there is also a brand new Dragon Quest X framer’s kit up for grabs. The event does not return frequently so players won’t want to miss out!
Event Schedule & Where To Start
The collaboration event will be running from Thursday, June 25th, 2026 at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) to Monday, July 13th, 2026 at 7:59 a.m. (PDT). The event has been held six times in total, including the upcoming run: 2014, 2017, 2020, 2021, 2024, and now 2026. There isn’t a set pattern to the event’s frequency, nor does it return often. As such, make sure to participate in the event before it’s gone for possibly one to three years!

To begin, speak with Havak Alvak of the Mythril Eye in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:12.1 Y:8.2). Join the investigation into the reports of strange golems and find out if the mining industry is about to be flipped on its head! Challenge event FATEs across various A Realm Reborn areas such as Central Thanalan, Lower La Noscea, Central Shroud, and more! Check out the event page for the exact location of the FATEs.
The event is identical to all of its previous iterations so veterans who have already completed it before won’t need to start it again. They are welcome to utilize the Seasonal Event Replay Feature if they want to experience the event once more! Alternatively, if you’ve kept the quest sitting in your Journal since a previous run, you may finally continue from where you left off.
Event Rewards

The event quest rewards haven’t changed since 2014. Get your Thug’s Mug helmet and Wind-up Brickman minion if this is your first time participating in the event! The 2017 run added in the distinguished King Slime Crown as a purchasable glamour helmet. A new addition this year is the Dragon Quest X framer’s kit, shown above!

Seek out the Roegadyn Toughie in Ul’dah – Steps of Nald (X:8 Y:12) to purchase the last two event items. The event vendor will be stationed close to the Thaumaturges’ Guild aetheryte for the duration of the event. Previously, the slime crown was available for 57 gil so we can expect the framer’s kit to be purchasable for gil as well!
The King Slime Crown is perhaps my favourite silly hat in the game. I have fond memories of watching it go wild during an in-game tempest while sitting in Eureka Anemos waiting for Pazuzu. I believe it can now be worn by all races too!
