HoYoverse just dropped a new Genshin Impact character teaser, and this one hits a bit different. The trailer focuses on Aino, a character we have only seen in the recent Song of the Welkin Moon teaser. Aino is desperately trying to awaken someone, or something, that she seems to have created herself, and named Ineffa.
What starts as a quiet moment quickly turns into a really emotional and personal story of rejection, loneliness, and found family.

Aino and the Creation of Ineffa
The trailer opens with Aino speaking to Ineffa, trying to wake her up, but getting no response. Over and over, she calls out to her, encourages her, even gives her a name and introduces herself. But Ineffa remains silent.
As Aino keeps trying, her frustration slowly shifts into vulnerability. She talks to Ineffa like she is a close friend or family member. She even asks her to do things like clean or fetch things. The more Ineffa stays silent, the more Aino’s emotions start to break through. Ineffa is not just another one of her creations. She is born from Aino’s loneliness and rejection from others calling her robots stupid or useless.
Loneliness and Rejection
Midway through the trailer, Aino remembers painful memories, including harsh words from someone named Ner. Given the recent Song of the Welkin Moon teaser, we can guess that Ner is most likely Nefer? But it could also be someone else. One thing is sure, she is not very nice to Aino, and dismissed her inventions, telling her she was worthless. You can feel how much those words stuck with Aino.
But instead of breaking down, Aino pushes forward. She declares that her machines, her robots, even her screws, and especially Ineffa, are her family. You get the sense she is not just talking to Ineffa, she is trying to prove her own worth to herself.
A Robot With a Heart
Ineffa is clearly some sort of android or robot. Aino mentions how she is cold, and that Ineffa is also cold.
However, at the very end, Ineffa finally wakes up! And she does not act like some kind of evil robot. She is quite the opposite. Before Aino wakes up, Ineffa starts to cook. And when Aino finally comes out, Ineffa declares:
“This is my home now.”
It is a simple, short sentence. But it carries a lot of power, especially for Aino!
One thing is sure, we will most likely learn more about Ineffa, Aino, and their little family of robots and screws, in the next Genshin Impact patch, so stay tuned!
