HoYoverse has released the full schedule for Genshin Impact Version Luna V! The version will go live on February 25, 2026, and the update brings Varka, a new 5-star Anemo Claymore character, his “special quest”, and a ton of events running through early April, giving you plenty of new content to explore and rewards to earn!

Meet Varka

Varka Lone Wolf Fragments Swords

Because there is never enough of Varka, here is a little reminder of what his kit is about, and how his special interactions work!

Varka wields two Claymores at once, allowing him to deal two types of elemental damage simultaneously. Razor mains will notice some familiar moves since Varka actually trained him, but with a few changes! Varka’s left-hand weapon consistently deals Anemo DMG, and the other adapts to his party members’ elemental damage.

  • Elemental Skill: Deals extra DMG and reduces cooldown when dealing damage. Swirl reactions with other characters increase his power further
  • Elemental Burst: Changes damage type based on party members’ elements
  • Synergy: Works especially well with Hexerei characters

Varka also has a special quest, or rather a special interaction that allows him to collect Wolf Spirits Fragments, where he interacts with the Local Legends. Doing so will take you through a mysterious place. In there, you will have to complete challenges solo, and you can unlock a unique weapon skin that changes the appearance of both his Claymores.

Version Luna V Events

Version Luna V is not just about Varka (sadly). HoYoverse has also outlined the full event lineup for the patch, with activities and rewards rolling out from late February through early April. Here is everything you can participate in, when the events start, and when they end!

Genshin Impact Luna V Event Schedule
  • February 23: The third cycle of To Temper Thyself and Journey Far begins, letting you choose another 5-star constellation from a set of specific characters
  • February 25: Varka’s banner and special interactions go live, giving you the chance to add him to your roster and explore his solo challenges
  • From February 27 to March 16: Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind
    • Hosted by the Knights of Favonius with mini-games including a drink stand, photo event, gliding challenge, and more
    • Rewards include a Catalyst weapon skin named “Phantasmal Gift: Star Omen”
  • March 4: Stygian Onslaught rotates, offering a new challenge for endgame players
  • From March 16 to March 26: Sightseeing With Friends
    • Head back to Sumeru and reunite with old friends, including Bongo Head, taking your Fungal friends through Teyvat on a sightseeing adventure
  • From March 23 to April 2: Operation Stronghold Defense
    • Join Aino in testing her automated defense system
  • From March 30 to April 6: Overflowing Abundance returns, letting you enjoy double drops from domains

A Busy Six Weeks Ahead

Taken together, Version Luna V is supposed to keep you active throughout the entire patch cycle. Varka’s release and his solo challenge quest will likely take you some time, and at least for once, we get a free weapon skin. Shortly after, the flagship event Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind takes over with its mix of mini-games and cosmetic rewards.

The second half of the patch is a bit lighter with a small character-driven event, before closing out with Operation Stronghold Defense and the returning Overflowing Abundance for a ton of materials. Even if Luna V has no new map, its content is still enough for a fairly dense schedule overall.
