Aino Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Aino is a 4-star Hydro Claymore character in Genshin Impact. Our Aino build guide will focus on Aino's best weapons, best artifacts, skills, constellations and Aino's best teams.
Aino Strengths and Weaknesses
Aino provides Decent Hydro application.
Counts as a Nod-Krai character for Moonsign buffs and Artifact sets.
Provides 80 EM buff from C1.
C6 brings DMG buffs for specific reactions that are boosted further with Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam.
Unlike other Nod-Krai characters, Aino's Moonsign Benediction: Force Limit Analysis provides no other effects aside from the Moonsign level increase meaning Aino essentially has 1 less passive.
Does very little damage, while all her talents do is increase their damage.
Aino Build Guide, Best Artifacts, Weapons and Talent Priority
Aino is best built as a supportive character both to provide buffs and also a stack of Moonsign for the party.

Aino's main purpose is to be a support, and what better weapon to build than Favonius Greatsword which helps support the entire team. Other alternatives include weapons that provide a hefty amount of Elemental Mastery such as the recently available Flame-Forged Insight. Flame-Forged insight is best for Bloom teams specifically but if you are looking for a generic weapon to allow Aino to be built for any situation, use Favonius.
Aino generally wants to be built with the Natlan artifact set Silken Moon's Serenade to buff the team. That being said, other characters may already use this artifact in their build and therefore you need to build Aino with either Noblesse Oblige or Instructor.
Aino is incredibly easy to build stat-wise, simply wanting Elemental Mastery in Bloom teams. In generalist teams, Aino wants to be built with enough ER and CRIT Rate to have no issues being a support, but the added Elemental Mastery is nice to have. Build around 150-200% ER with the lower bounds being with C4, and the higher bounds being without.

How to Play Aino and Aino's Gameplay Explained
To put it simply, use Aino's Skill > Burst > Swap characters. Aino is very easy to play as a support but you should also make sure to consider that Precision Hydronic Cooler's AoE and fire rate is increased with Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam. Therefore depending on how many Nod-Krai characters are in your party, your burst will act differently.
Aino's Best Team Comps
In teams, Aino provides Hydro application, buffs for the team both via weapons and artifacts but also though enabling Ascendant Gleam for the party if another Nod-Krai character is present.
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Support | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Flins | Ineffa | Aino | Sucrose |
Nilou | Lauma | Aino | Baizhu |
Lauma | Xingqiu | Aino | Kuki Shinobu |
Aino can be a great choice in Flins teams allowing you to free up other characters such as Yelan or Furina for other teams without losing much damage. Without Ineffa, Aino will be required in Flins's teams to trigger Moonsign.
In Lauma teams, Aino again enables Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam however with Lauma this is a double-edged sword as it also means that Lauma cannot crit Bloom's anymore. Instead, you are able to fully utilise artifact sets and increase Lauma's personal damage which is a perfectly viable trade-off.

Aino's Constellations
Aino's Best constellations are her C1 The Theory of Ash—Field Equilibrium which provides an EM buff to the party, as well as her C6, The Burden of Creative Genius which provides reaction DMG buffs. Furthermore, Aino's C2, The Principle of Transference in Gear Differentials can be great depending on your team with it granting additional Hydro application.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | The Theory of Ash—Field Equilibrium | After Aino uses her Elemental Skill Musecatcher or her Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler, her Elemental Mastery will be increased by 80. The Elemental Mastery of other nearby active party members will be increased by 80 for 15s. The Elemental Mastery-increasing effects of this Constellation do not stack. |
C2 | The Principle of Transference in Gear Differentials | If Aino is off-field while the Focused Hydronic Cooling Zone of her Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler is active, when your active party member hits a nearby opponent with an attack, the Cool Your Jets Ducky will fire an additional water ball at that opponent, dealing AoE Hydro DMG equal to 25% of Aino's ATK and 100% of her Elemental Mastery. This DMG is considered Elemental Burst DMG. This effect can be triggered once every 5s. |
C3 | Cake and the Art of Mechanism Repair | Increases the Level of Precision Hydronic Cooler by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C4 | Butter and Cats and the Law of Energy Supply | When the Elemental Skill Musecatcher hits an opponent, it will restore 10 Elemental Energy for Aino. Energy can be restored to her in this manner once every 10s. |
C5 | Perpetual Turbine of Metal and Light | Increases the Level of Musecatcher by 3. Maximum upgrade level is 15. |
C6 | The Burden of Creative Genius | For the next 15s after using the Elemental Burst Precision Hydronic Cooler, DMG from nearby active characters' Electro-Charged, Bloom, Lunar-Charged, and Lunar-Bloom reactions is increased by 15%. Moonsign: Ascendant Gleam: DMG from the aforementioned reactions will be further increased by 20%. |
