Genshin Impact’s Anemo Vet Ifa Is Adorable – But Is He Any Good?

Ifa is the latest 4-star character coming to Genshin Impact, and he’ll appear on the upcoming Escoffier banner. Known as the sauro-vet of the Flower-Feather Clan, Ifa takes care of the Saurians of Natlan, and he’s never seen without his loyal companion, Cacucu. Here is everything we know about Ifa, and whether you should pull for him or not!

Ifa’s New Character Trailer: The Warmth of Down

HoYoverse just released Ifa’s official trailer, titled The Warmth of Down. You can take a look at it here:

Ifa has a warm personality, a strong bond with Cacucu, and a determination to help others, even when he himself might be the one who needs help.

What Kind of Character Is Ifa?

Ifa is a 4-star Anemo catalyst user who focuses on healing and Electro-Charged reactions. He works best in Taser teams: compositions that combine Hydro and Electro elements to trigger constant damage through reactions. His kit also includes Nightsoul Points, which require a character from Natlan.

However, he comes with a few downsides:

  • He doesn’t outperform existing healers. He has a hard time keeping up with Furina for example.
  • He also doesn’t provide stronger Swirl reactions.
  • Without building a team around Electro-Charged reactions, part of his potential goes unused.

Because of this, Ifa can feel underwhelming unless you build a team that fits him well.

Should You Pull for Ifa?

Since Ifa is a 4-star character, it’s not guaranteed you’ll get him, even if you try. If you’re not interested in Escoffier, the 5-star on the banner, pulling just for Ifa can be risky. Four-star characters can take many pulls to get, and you might end up with 5-stars you don’t want.

That said, if you are pulling for Escoffier anyway, getting Ifa as a bonus is definitely a nice win. He can still be a solid Swirl support and a decent healer in the right teams. Just don’t expect him to completely replace more established characters in those roles.

As always in Genshin Impact, the final choice comes down to personal preference. If you like Ifa’s personality, his story, or just love Cacucu, then absolutely go for him. He may not be the most powerful Anemo unit out there, but he has charm, and sometimes, that’s all that matters. He will still get the job done if you want to use him in the Abyss or Imaginarium Theater.

Just remember: as a 4-star, Ifa will be available on future banners too, including the standard one. So if you don’t get him this time, there’s still a chance later on.
