Version 5.8’s New Weapons: Fractured Halo and Flame‑Forged Insight

The tail end of Genshin Impact’s 5.x cycle arrives with a modest but intriguing arsenal. Version 5.8 adds two brand new weapons that complement the patch’s headline mechanic, Lunar‑Charged, a variant of the Electro‑Charged reaction. Both weapons reward players for triggering Electro‑charged‑style reactions and, in the case of the polearm, for creating shields.

Fractured Halo: Polearm for Just Ineffa?

Fractured Halo is a five‑star polearm with a base attack that caps out at about 608 at level 90 and a CRIT DMG substat that grows from 14.4% to 66.2%. Its passive ability, Purifying Crown, grants the user a 24% attack bonus for 20 seconds after using an Elemental Skill or Burst. While this buff is active, creating a shield triggers Electrifying Edict: all nearby party members’ Lunar‑Charged damage is increased by 40% for 20 seconds.

Because Lunar‑Charged is an Electro-Hydro reaction that deals sustained damage over time, the weapon is tailored toward teams built around this mechanic and characters who can generate shields while wielding a polearm. This makes it the perfect weapon for Ineffa especially. Even aside form the shield-related effects however this weapon still seems like a solid stat-stick with the CDMG and ATK buffs. Every Polearm is a Xiangling buff at the end of the day as the Polearm Archon.

Flame-Forged Insight – A New Event Weapon

Flame‑Forged Insight is a four‑star claymore offered through the Sunspray Summer Resort event. It has a base attack of 510 and provides 165 Elemental Mastery as its secondary stat. The weapon’s passive, Mind in Bloom, restores 12 points of Elemental Energy and grants a Sunspray Summer Resort bonus for 15 seconds after the wielder triggers Electro‑Charged, Lunar‑Charged or Bloom.

Event weapons can be very hit or miss (like seriously, who uses any of those bows?) however this weapon is seemingly aimed towards the future given Ineffa is the main Lunar-Charged release at the moment.

That being said, we do have one great Bloom Claymore character who also scales on EM… Kaveh! Kaveh is for sure going to be a great user of this weapon.
