Kaveh Guide and Best Builds for Genshin Impact
Kaveh is a 4-Star Dendro Claymore character in Genshin Impact who supports Dendro reactions with his ability to explode Dendro Cores at will. Our Kaveh build guide will focus on his Best Artifacts, Team Comps, Ascension Materials and More.
Kaveh Strengths and Weaknesses
- Able to manually detonate Dendro Cores using their Elemental Skill or Burst.
- Elemental Burst provides a Dendro infusion allowing him to drive Dendro reactions.
- Taking damage from Dendro Cores activates Kaveh's powerful self healing abilities.
- Unable to provide anything of value to the team while off-field.
- High Energy Recharge requirements and has no Constellation to reduce or solve it.
- Low damage while having an on-field role.
Kaveh Dendro Driver Build
Kaveh is often built as a Driver for Dendro reactions due to their ability to apply Dendro while on-field.

Kaveh's best weapons tend to revolve around either Elemental Mastery or Energy Recharge. This is because Elemental Mastery helps to not only improve his Bloom DMG but also his self healing. Otherwise, Kaveh has very high Energy Recharge requirements and therefore heavily benefits from weapons which revolve around Energy Recharge such as Favonius Greatsword.
Kaveh has a few artifact options with Deepwood Memories being incredibly important. Ideally, Kaveh should not use Deepwood Memories and a Dendro support should instead. This then allows Kaveh to either use Flower of Paradise Lost when Kaveh is triggering the majority of Blooms or Ocean-Hued Clam when he is not.
Much like with Kaveh's weapons, Elemental Mastery and Energy Recharge are key. The only difference is that CRIT Rate can be important if you are using Favonius Greatsword so that you can consistently proc the weapons effects.
Kaveh's Energy Recharge Requirements
Listed below are some recommended Energy Recharge requirements to aim for depending on if you are using Favonius Greatsword and if the team has 1 or 2 Dendro characters. Generally Kaveh should proc Favonius twice when played on-field however if your Favonius Greatsword is a lower refinement or if you have low CRIT Rate you may only proc one time. Alternatively, the higher end of the "1 Self Favonius Proc" can be used as an equivalent for playing Kaveh off-field.
Weapon | Sole Dendro | Double Dendro |
---|---|---|
No specific weapon | 240 - 260%+ | 175 - 195% |
1 Self Favonius Proc | 200 - 220% | 155 - 175% |
2 Self Favonius Procs | 180 - 200% | 140 - 150% |
Combos and How to Play Kaveh
Kaveh's gameplay revolves around his ability to burst Dendro Cores automatically in several ways. These are:
- Upon use of Artistic Ingenuity which will cause all Dendro Cores to explode if they are in the AoE.
- Upon use of Painted Dome which also causes Dendro Cores to explode withing the AoE.
- When Kaveh has the Elemental Conversion of Painted Dome while having Pairidaeza's Dreams (C6).
Do not forget that Dendro Cores burst by Kaveh does not necessarily mean they have been triggered by Kaveh. If he was not the character who specifically made the Cores they do not gain the effect of Feast of Apadana (C4) and do not scale based on Kaveh's Elemental Mastery. Instead, they scale based off of the stats of the character who did trigger the reaction.
It is also worth noting, Kaveh's Dendro Core triggers do in fact trigger with Nilou's Bountiful Cores as a result of being counted as Dendro Cores. That being said, the explode quickly regardless creating anti-synergy.
Kaveh's Elemental Burst Painted Dome not only causes Dendro Cores to explode, it also converts your DMG into Dendro DMG, increases your Interruption RES and increases the DMG of all Dendro Cores that the party generates.
This Dendro conversion goes away when Kaveh leaves the field so you want to make the most of it while he is on-field. After using your Elemental Burst, the Attack combo is 3 Normal Attacks and then a dash cancel before the 4th Attack which you then repeat while dealing Dendro DMG.
Kaveh Best Team Comps
Kaveh's best team compositions revolve around Bloom, Hyperbloom or Burgeon. Because Kaveh's Dendro application comes while on-field, his party needs to revolve around off-field characters with ideally a second Dendro character to ease Energy Recharge requirements. Kaveh has the ability to self heal meaning another healer may not necessarily be required or characters with less healing such as Xingqiu can suffice.
Kaveh Bloom Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Kaveh | Xingqiu | Yelan | Baizhu |
Kaveh | Xingqiu | Nahida | Sangonomiya Kokomi |
Listed are 2 examples of Bloom teams. 2 Hydro characters is important to ensure there can be enough elemental application while Kaveh is on-field. Characters such as Xingqiu, Yelan and Sangonomiya Kokomi are great for this. Additional Dendro application from characters like Nahida and Baizhu can also be useful as well as the buffs they provide to the team. 2 Dendro characters also helps to lower Energy Recharge requirements as well as provide Dendro Resonance.
Alternatively, Anemo characters such as Kaedehara Kazuha and Sucrose to group up Dendro Cores. This makes it easier for Kaveh to detonate them within his AoE.
Nilou Bloom Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS |
---|---|---|---|
Kaveh | Xingqiu | Nilou |
Nilou Bloom teams can work well with Kaveh. Because of Nilou's Ascension Passive Court of Dancing Petals you are forced into only using Hydro and Dendro characters.
This ultimately works similarly to other Bloom teams but in this team Kaveh is unable to as effectively explode Dendro Cores because Nilou's Bountiful Cores explode immediately anyway. His self healing however allows him to be tankier on field than many of the other on-field Dendro options.
Kaveh Hyperbloom Team
Main DPS | Sub DPS | Sub DPS | Support |
---|---|---|---|
Kaveh | Raiden Shogun | Nahida | Xingqiu |
Kaveh | Xingqiu | Yelan | Kuki Shinobu |
Listed are some example of Hyperbloom teams which require an Electro character to be able to trigger the Hyperbloom reaction to deal damage. The ideal options here are Raiden Shogun or Kuki Shinobu built with Elemental Mastery to increase damage.

Kaveh's Constellations
Kaveh has some very impactful Constellations. Sublime Salutations (C1) increases his survivability against Dendro Core explosions making it easier to not use a healer in teams. Pairidaeza's Dreams (C6) massively increases how often Kaveh can detonate Dendro Cores.
# | Name | Explanation |
---|---|---|
C1 | Sublime Salutations | Within 3s after using Artistic Ingenuity, Kaveh's Dendro RES and Incoming Healing Bonus will be increased by 50% and 25% respectively. |
C2 | Grace of Royal Roads | Kaveh's Normal Attack SPD increases by 15% during Painted Dome . |
C3 | Profferings of Dur Untash |
|
C4 | Feast of Apadana | Dendro Cores created from Bloom reactions Kaveh triggers will deal 60% more DMG when they burst. |
C5 | Treasures of Bonkhanak |
|
C6 | Pairidaeza's Dreams | When Kaveh's Normal, Charged, or Plunging Attacks hit opponents during Painted Dome , they will unleash Pairidaeza's Light upon the opponent's position, dealing 61.8% of Kaveh's ATK as AoE Dendro DMG and causing all Dendro Cores within that AoE to burst. This effect can be triggered once every 3s. |
