The FFXIV crossover event in Monster Hunter Wilds is bringing a big new monster: Omega Planetes! You can start hunting the base version or the Savage extreme-difficulty version. Here is how to unlock them and what rewards await you!
Base Omega Planetes
The first encounter with Omega Planetes introduces you to the story of Alpha and Omega, straight from Eorzea. This hunt is a great entry point into the collaboration and comes with a variety of unique rewards for hunters who can’t wait to head into the FFXIV crossover.
How to Unlock:
- Reach Hunter Rank 41+.
- Complete the main mission “What Lies Ahead“.
- This unlocks a special extra mission in the Iceshard Cliffs, where you can face Omega Planetes for the first time.
Rewards
- Shadowbringer Great Sword – unique weapon skill included.
- Dark Knight Hunter Armor (Bale Armor α set) – set bonus skill “Soul of the Dark Knight“, that lets you activate The Blackest Night ability from your item bar to generate a powerful barrier at the cost of your health.
- FFXIV Morbol Armor & Weapon for Palicos – turn your Palico into a Morbol, complete with Pictomancer Brush.
- Use Pictomancy spells like Pom Motif and combine motifs to unleash Mog of Ages.
- Additional collab goodies – Seikret decorations, pendants, gestures, hunter profile backgrounds/poses, and more!
Planetes Protocol (Savage) – Extreme Difficulty
For hunters ready for a real challenge, Planetes Protocol (Savage) is an ultra high-difficulty 9-star event quest. This version of Omega Planetes is designed to test the skills of even the most experienced hunters.
How to Unlock
- Defeat Omega Planetes in the base extra mission.
- Reach HR 100+ to access the Planetes Protocol (Savage) event quest.
- Accept the quest from the Quest Counter (Event Quests Tab) or by speaking to Alma in the Tent.

- Omega’s Sword & Shield
- Omega’s Rod (Insect Glaive) + Kinsect: OMG
- Floating OMG Pendant
- FFXIV Manderville Mambo Gesture
Savage mode is a permanent 9-star extreme-difficulty quest, so you can farm these rewards anytime once unlocked.
