Capcom has finally revealed everything coming in Title Update 2 for Monster Hunter Wilds, and it is full of content. From returning monsters and quality-of-life upgrades to really cool new gear and fun collaborations, here is a quick breakdown of what is dropping when the free update launches on June 30, 2025!

Two Favorite Monsters Return

First up, the wilds are getting a little more dangerous with the return of Lagiacrus and Seregios.

Lagiacrus, the aquatic leviathan from older titles, surfaces once again to shake things up, literally. If you are Hunter Rank 31 or above, and you have cleared both A World Turned Upside Down and the side mission Forest Doshaguma, you will unlock a special quest to face it.

Seregios joins the hunt as well, bringing its sharp scales and airborne aggression into the mix. You will only need to finish A World Turned Upside Down at HR 31+ to unlock its mission.

If that is not tough enough, Tempered versions of both monsters will start appearing once you are HR 41 and have completed their extra missions!

Of course, both also come with new gear:

A New Endgame Threat

Just when you thought you could relax, Arch-tempered Uth Duna shows up!

Starting July 30, this limited-time event boss will be available through both event and challenge quests. You will need to be HR 50+ to take it on, so get your best builds ready! It’s designed to push even the strongest Hunters to their limits.

Arch-Tempered Uth Duna will also come with new limited Equipment:

Gear Up Your Way with Layered Weapons

The update also introduces a long-requested feature: layered weapons.

Once you fully forge a weapon, you can now use its look with any gear in the same category. Even older weapon appearances (like versions before final upgrades) can be unlocked for cosmetic use.

Palico gear is getting the same layered treatment too, so your Felyne friend can match your style.

Layered Artian weapons can be obtained by fully reinforcing the Rarity 8 weapon as well!

Better Screenshots, Smarter Helpers

Photo Mode is also getting some love in TU2. You will be able to adjust brightness, use filters, and hide specific characters, like your Palico, handler, or Seikret, for cleaner, more cinematic screenshots.

And speaking of companions, you will soon be able to change your handler from Alma to Erik and even choose which support hunters accompany you on your missions. More customization, more control.

Summer Festivities and Guitar Solos

A new seasonal Event is here! The Festival of Accord: Flamefete kicks off on July 23 and runs until August 6. Expect seasonal decorations at the Grand Hub, new meals, limited-time gear, gestures, and even camp decorations.

Then, starting August 27, Monster Hunter Wilds is teaming up with Fender for a special guitar-themed collaboration. You will be able to unlock a unique gesture by completing a limited event quest, running until September 24. It’s all part of the 20th anniversary celebration!

And a Few Extra Bonuses…

There is also a free dance gesture set dropping with the update, as well as Cosmetic DLC Pack 2, which is a paid bundle that adds more cool options for your hunter. It’s available to players with the Premium Deluxe Edition or Cosmetic DLC Pass, but also sold separately if you just want a piece of it.
