Back when Crimson Desert launched in March, there was plenty of curiosity around Pearl Abyss’ new action RPG. But few people probably expected the game to hit this kind of milestone so quickly.
Pearl Abyss has now confirmed that Crimson Desert has sold more than 6 million copies worldwide since its release. Considering the game launched less than three months ago, that is a pretty remarkable result for a new IP.

According to Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert sold 2 million copies on launch day, passed 5 million within its first month, and has now crossed 6 million copies after just 83 days.
New franchises rarely put up numbers like that, especially in a year full of other big releases.
In a statement accompanying the announcement, Pearl Abyss CEO Jin-young Heo thanked players for their support and said the studio plans to continue improving the game through future updates.
“We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for helping Crimson Desert achieve meaningful success in the global market despite being a new IP.”
More Updates Are Still on the Way
The story is not over yet, either. Pearl Abyss confirmed that additional content and more updates will continue to be released between June and September. Planned content includes:
- Story improvements
- New combat content
- Cross-save support between PC, PlayStation, and Xbox
- Various quality-of-life improvements
The studio also confirmed that DLC is currently in development, but no details have been revealed yet.
With 6 million copies sold and more content still planned for the months ahead, Crimson Desert is definitely only at the start of its story.
