Crimson Desert Update Adds Mounts and Quality-Of-Life Improvements

Crimson Desert just got a pretty big update with version 1.06.00, and even if it is not a full content expansion, there are a lot of improvements and adjustments in here that change how the game feels when you play.

New Mounts Everywhere

One of the first things you will probably notice is just how many new mounts have been added. We are talking bears, wolves, boars, deer, camels, lions, tigers, even iguanas and raptors. Basically, you will be able to register those animals as special mounts after gaining their trust.

There is also now a dedicated tab in the inventory just for managing special mounts, and that will honestly make things a lot less messy if you are switching between them often.

Gear Extraction and Combat

A new Extraction system has also been added. Basically, you can now recover materials used in equipment refinement instead of just losing them, and this is a nice quality-of-life change for anyone constantly changing builds.

Combat also got a few smaller additions. Oongka now has new unarmed skills, and there are extra effects when firing two-handed cannons, for example.

There is also a new item called the “Sigil of Valor” that lets your pet dog join fights and attack enemies. Small detail, but kind of fun.

Small Quality-Of-Life Updates

This patch also adds a few smaller systems that improve the game overall.

You now have sword sheaths (finally), a search bar in the skill menu, and even a Night Tone Mode for visual settings. There is also a new animation when you fail those big valve interactions, plus a claw machine mini activity added at the Laughing Marionette.

Outside of all that, the update also includes general improvements and bug fixes that were needed.

Overall, 1.06.00 feels like one of those “game is slowly becoming more complete” updates. A lot of small systems, a few fun additions, and some quality-of-life changes that will probably matter more than they look like on paper.
