Elden Ring Nightreign just dropped its first major update, The Deep of Night. This update introduces a new difficulty mode, new weapons and relics, and a rating system.
Elden Ring Nightreign Deep of Night Overview
The Deep of Night is a brand-new mode that presents more than a few extra challenges for Nightfarers to conquer. In this new mode, your runs will have upscaled difficulty with new enhanced enemies that are somewhat akin to Red Phantoms from past Dark Souls games. While you can choose to avoid these encounters, defeating them will grant you powerful rewards, but at a cost.
New Weapons
During Deep of Night expeditions, you can obtain weapons with multiple additional effects by defeating enhanced enemies or completing new challenges. However, these weapons also come with detrimental effects; blindly picking them up could put you at a disadvantage.

Depths Relics
Along with the addition of enhanced weapons comes a new set of Relics in the form of Depths Relics. These new Relics can only be activated during Deep of Night expeditions and feature new powers and detrimental effects not found in standard relics. Nightfarers can now place Depth Relics in three newly unlockable slots, enabling them to enter The Deep of Night mode with a total of six Relics.

New Nightreign Depth Rating System
As players continue to have successful Deep of Night runs, their depth rating will increase. With a higher rating, enemy strength increases, and new challenges emerge during their runs. For instance, the map might not reveal every key location, or the Nightlord they are pursuing could be concealed. Additionally, they may face an Everdark Sovereign as the boss on the third day.
Players can jump into the new mode right away, with the only restriction being that you must have already defeated the Nightlord named Night Aspect. Stay up to date with our latest news for more Elden Ring Nightreign.
