Fans have discovered that THQ Nordic has applied for a trademark for “FATEKEEPER”, and is now working on a new game, currently called “Project 5.” What initially began as a possible sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning has quickly turned into community speculation about what game THQ Nordic is cooking up!
A Reddit user named Tozzeb was the first to post about the possibility of THQ Nordic creating a sequel to Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. The connection was easy to make, as THQ Nordic recently applied for a trademark under the name “FATEKEEPER.” This speculation gained traction after Kingdoms of Amalur received a remaster a few years ago, which included DLC content called “Fatesworn“—not available in the original release.
However, further investigation revealed concept art from a senior-level designer at KAIKO, leading fans to question whether “FATEKEEPER” could indeed be linked to a future Kingdoms of Amalur game.

Could This Be a New Darksiders Game?
Judging from the screenshots and the post’s description, this doesn’t fit the bill for Kingdoms of Amalur, but instead points to another pre-existing IP. The top-down, third-person camera angles and the level design suggest this may be another Darksiders game.
The ArtStation post provides details about a location called the Sundering Plains. One translated post mentions: “Project 5” is an action-adventure game based on a well-known IP from THQ Nordic GmbH. Set in a fantasy-rich, mystical world, players will battle overwhelming enemies in a typical action-adventure style and continue a beloved story.
Based on the description, we can speculate this might not just be a new Darksiders game—but one that follows the format of Darksiders Genesis. However, it’s also possible that this could be a completely new IP.

We do know that the game is planned to include multiplayer, as mentioned in one of the developer blog posts. This feature again suggests it’s likely another Darksiders Genesis game, the only title in the franchise to offer multiplayer gameplay.
We may find out more at at THQ Nordic’s Digital Showcase on August 1st, 2025, live at 12:00 p.m. (PDT) / 3:00 p.m. (EDT).
