With the recent No Man’s Sky Update, Hello Games ‘ upcoming title Light No Fire has finally gotten some fresh details. No Man’s Sky continues to get updates every few months, and fans have been waiting for any news about Light No Fire since its announcement at the 2023 Game Awards.
Light No Fire Plans to Have a True Open World
In the recent No Man’s Sky Voyagers update, Sean Murray highlighted that a lot of the tech utilized in this update is also helping build their upcoming game, Light No Fire. Murray elaborated on this with PC Gamer, stating, “The technical challenges they have had to overcome to make any of this possible have been immense. Almost every part of the game has had to be reworked to accommodate these relative spaces.”

Murray further explained, “Much of the technology we’re introducing with Voyagers is shared with our next game, Light No Fire, which features a truly open world, a shared Earth-sized planet, and real oceans to traverse, requiring large boats and crews.” Murray said. “We love that we get to share this technology with players early.”
This shows that Hello Games is incorporating a lot of the advancements from No Man’s Sky into Light No Fire. The Voyagers update emphasizes building and designing your own traveling spaceship, complete with customizable sections like sleeping quarters and medical bays. With 39 updates implemented over the past 9 years, there’s a wealth of features to draw from in shaping this new world.
If what they say is true, the idea of sailing across life-sized oceans or climbing 1:1 scaled mountains seems almost too good to be true. Yet, with what Hello Games is capable of doing with No Man’s Sky, this might just become a reality.
Although we lack further details about Light No Fire, including a release date, keep an eye on our latest news as we get more details.
