Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 Brings Major Buffs, Nerfs & New Team-Ups

Along with the recent reveal of Daredevil’s gameplay, Marvel Rivals has just announced the upcoming changes for S4.5. Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 is bringing a handful of huge balance changes, including buffs to Venom, nerfs to Phoenix, and brand new team-ups.

Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 Balance Adjustments

Several heroes are getting buffs and nerfs this time around, with every role feeling both positive and negative impact. Starting on October 10th, the following changes will roll out:

BUFFS

  • Angela
    • Receiving more Bonus Health from Axes of Ichors.
  • Venom
    • Feast of the Abyss now applies a 30% Healing Reduction.
  • Blade
    • Daywalker Dash attack range increased.
    • Whirlwind Slash grants one slash attack speed.
    • Increased the duration of each slash speed attack during Bloodline Awakening.
  • Iron Fist
    • Barrage Punches base damage is being lowered by 1, but increasing the Max Health damage from 2.7% to 3.1%.
  • Mister Fantastic
    • After pulling an enemy with Distended Grip, the target gains the Immobilize debuff for one second.
  • Hela
    • Astral Flock’s startup animation is faster, and now grants her 25 Bonus Health.
  • Psylocke
    • Now moves faster during Dance of the Butterfly, and each strike now deals 170 damage, up from 150.
  • Rocket Raccoon
    • C.Y.A. Damage Boost is increasing from 25% to 40%.

NERFS

  • Human Torch
    • Fire Cluster now deals less damage per projectile, from 5.5 to 5.
    • Fire Cluster now has a 0.5 delay before ammo recharges.
    • Plasma Body movement speed is going down from 900 to 850.
  • Phoenix
    • Melee attacks no longer stack Sparks.
    • Primary Weapon ammo no longer reloads during Dark Ascent.
    • Dark Ascent’s cooldown has been increased by 1 second.
  • Cloak & Dagger
    • Eternal Bond energy cost has been increased from 4300 to 4500.
  • Jeff the Land Shark
    • Oblivious Cuteness now only reduces crit damage by 50% instead of 70%.
  • Ultron
    • Imperative: Patch healing has been lowered from 35 to 30, and the healing bonus to the followed ally from 10 to 5.
    • Rage of Ultron energy cost has been increased from 3400 to 3700.

Many fans are happy with some of the changes, mainly the nerfs to Phoenix’s melee, since she has been dominating the meta. Additionally, buffs to Mister Fantastic and Blade are most welcome, as both heroes are struggling in the current meta.

Despite this, fans are wondering why characters like Ultron are getting the nerf bat once again, and whether Rocket’s Ultimate damage boost consistently needs tweaking. The results of this will likely lead to Rocket ult combos with Venom making a return due to these changes.

Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 Team Up Changes

Marvel Rivals Season 4.5 will also introduce a few new team-ups, while making changes to older ones, and will see the full removal of one of the oldest pairings since the game’s launch.

For new Team Ups, Daredevil is becoming an anchor for the Punisher, which changes his Smokescreen to Blind and marks his enemies. Hela is now teaming up with Namor, granting him a new AoE water spout ability, and take-downs cause Monstro Spawns to appear.

Naturally, because of this new team-up for Namor, he loses Gamma Charge. Magik’s Chain of Cyttorak’s range and slow are also decreasing. Finally, with Hela’s new Team Up, Ragnarok Rebirth is being sunset.
