Marvel Rivals Daredevil Reveal: Is He Already Too Overpowered?

Marvel Rivals has just given fans a first look at gameplay for the newest hero, Daredevil. Not only does this trailer showcase the multitude of things Matt Murdock is capable of, but it also confirms that The Man Without Fear is joining the Duelist roster. While amidst the hype of the new trailer, some fans have begun discussing whether Daredevil’s ability kit is too much or too similar to that of other heroes.

Daredevil Ability Showcase

Marvel Rivals’ newest trailer showcases Daredevil’s abilities, which involve wallrunning, a deflect/parry, dashes, and an Ultimate that limits enemies’ vision. While we don’t have our hands on Daredevil quite yet to know the full ins and outs of his kit, it does raise a question. Are Daredevil’s abilities overloaded, or is the community worrying a little too much?

Let The Devil Out

As fans expected, Daredevil is a melee character with very little range to deal with flying or long-range threats, on top of having his vision limited. But fans are already wondering if Daredevil’s kit can accomplish too much. Other fans are already drawing comparisons that Matt Murdock might be Marvel Rivals’ equivalent of Genji from Overwatch. Both characters are extremely fast, can wall run, and have a dash that resets upon landing a killing blow.

Furthermore, fans are even comparing Daredevil to Iron Fist. Initially, Iron Fist was the bane of every support’s existence in earlier seasons, but as of late, Iron Fist continues to shift to a more tank-killer role. Could Daredevil be the new Iron Fist? Both have blocking abilities, but whereas Iron Fists’ turns damage into bonus health, Daredevil’s doesn’t, but seemingly allows him to reflect projectiles, or possibly even other melee attacks.

Additionally, this is all without mentioning the fact that Daredevil can mark and see targets through walls, similar to Punisher, but for a much longer duration. However, this could also be the complete opposite case, given the recent state of newer heroes.

Newer additions to Marvel Rivals, such as Ultron, Blade, or even the newest Vanguard, Angela, all have had underwhelming launch states, requiring several buffs to make them more viable.

But what do you think? Is it too quick to judge the state of a character’s kit before the deep dive is out, or do you think Daredevil is packing a little too much heat? Be sure to let us know and keep an eye on our latest news for future updates.
