Marvel Rivals Season 5 Patch Notes – Huge Hero Buffs & Reworks

Marvel Rivals Season 5 Patch Notes have finally dropped after yesterday’s announcement. Unlike previous seasons, Season 5 is packing a bunch of huge changes for lots of characters. The overall focus seems to shift to making everyone tankier and having better defensives, rather than mainly buffing damage numbers.

Marvel Rivals Season 5 Patch Notes

VANGUARD

Arguably, Vanguard is getting the biggest changes. Magneto now finally has separate cooldowns for his personal and allied shield, rather than both of them being tied together. Peni’s webs now heal her teammates and provide them with the same movement speed boost she gets. Captain America’s Ultimate now helps others charge their ultimates faster.

Groot’s Ironwood Wall now makes him Unstoppable when near it. Hulk’s Gamma Burst now lowers his shield cooldown with every enemy hit. But the biggest change is for The Thing. Ben Grimm is getting a rework; now his leap provides damage reduction in an AOE, and when he leaps at enemies, he now makes them Vulnerable. His Haymaker’s base damage is going down, but now deals max health damage and provides bonus health akin to the damage dealt, rather than a flat 50 HP.

DUELIST

There’s not too much happening for Duelists, but there are a few noteworthy mentions. Hawkeye now gains more damage for max Focus. Mister Fantastic can now use Reflexive Rubber during his inflated state. Reed Ritchards now also gains max health and heals instead of gaining bonus health when entering his Inflated state.

Storms Damage and Speed boost is being upgraded slightly. Wolverine’s leap is getting a shorter CD and will deal even more damage to tanks in Season 5. Punisher, Squirrel Girl, Spider-Man, and Phoenix are getting minor health, damage, or falloff adjustments.

STRATEGIST

Now, supports are getting some pretty noteworthy changes, but not nearly on the level that tanks are. Cloak & Dagger and Loki are getting HP buffs, with Loki also getting damage falloff buffs. Adam Warlock can now fly faster, and his ultimate now costs less and has a bigger detection radius. Rocket’s B.R.B cooldown is getting lowered, and his Repair Mode max count is going up. His Bombard and Repair modes are also getting projectile speed buffs.

Invisible Woman is getting a lot of changes. Her Orb Projection’s damage, range, and speed are going up. Force Physics length is also increasing. But the biggest change is that she can finally use her Guardian Shield on herself.

Team-Up Abilities

With every season comes a new round of Team-Ups and adjustments. This time, Hawkeye is being cut from Chilling Assault, and Magneto is being removed from Mental Projection. Operation Micrioship is being fully removed. Lunar Force is also being removed.

Black Widow is being added to Primal Flame, giving her the ability to fire healing bullets. That’s right, Black Widow is a healer now. Hawkeye is teaming up with Cloak & Dagger, now granting his Crescent Slash a healing and Antiheal function.

Magneto is joining Gambit, giving him a burst damage button, something akin to his initial team-up in Season 1. Lastly, Moon Knight and Blade are teaming up now that the Cloak & Dagger team-up is gone. Moon Knight now grants Blade an extra dash, which empowers his sword attacks with bouncing crescent moon projectiles, like Moon Knight’s regular attacks.

Season 5 Roadmap

To wrap things up, here is a look at the roadmap for Season 5. All of this kicks off on November 14th, with several skin lines dropping over the following weeks as part of the Anniversary event.
