The folks behind Vampire Survivors are back, but this time with a new spin-off game. After the co-op and updates to their older DLCs, along with the Warhammer Survivors game using their engine being announced, the team is back with a spin-off.
Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard
Instead of it being a continuation or a slight twist on the Survivors formula they have helped pave the way for, their newest game is actually an action roguelike card battler. Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard does take some inspiration from other card battlers, such as Slay the Spire or Balatro, as they jokingly name-drop them in the ending scene of their first announcement trailer.
What’s Different?
To set itself apart from other card battlers, they are drawing not only on the maps, items, and characters from Vampire Survivors, but also twisting them into a different way that fits a deck builder. You can carefully craft, upgrade, and play tactically, or throw all of that out of the window and play your cards as fast as you can for a true Vampire Survivors experience.

Also, unlike other card battlers that have you navigate through a map, which then teleports you to a new scene or combat, in Vampire Crawlers, you actually navigate the map yourself, so exploration definitely has a bigger importance this time around. Vampire Crawlers is coming to Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC in 2026, day one with Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Play Anywhere.
But what do you think? Will the minds behind the industry-breaking Vampire Survivors shake up the gaming scene again with their new in-universe spin-off, or will it struggle to meet the heights of their previous title? Only time will tell.
