On short notice, we’re looking for dedicated news writers to cover WoW Forever. With the Beta live now, we’re fleshing out a team that can keep a steady (daily) stream of news going.
What We Offer
You will join our experienced editorial team, who has covered WoW for years, and we’ll tell you straight when a post needs work.
This is a paid position, if it works out, it can turn into a full-time job.
This is a paid position with the chance to become a full-time job over time. Ideally, WoW is your main thing, not something you squeeze in after a day job.
What We’re Looking For
Time is of the essence, Champion!
We need writers who can be onboarded fast and post their own articles ASAP. We’re looking for someone who:
- Can commit to writing at least 1 (ideally multiple) WoW Forever news per day. We consider this a core requirement. If you cannot commit to it, this position is probably not a good fit.
- Has previous writing experience in gaming journalism.
- Writes clear, fluent English at a very high level. You don’t need to be a native speaker, but a strong command of the language is a must.
- Can quickly absorb feedback and act on it.
- Uses Discord for daily comms (this is where all of our communication takes place).
- Is willing to work in our news planner to coordinate topics and event coverage with the rest of the team.
- Actively monitors relevant news sources (social media, Discord, weekly PTR builds) for the news material.
- Actively plays WoW Forever Beta.
- Is reliable and available to be onboarded straight away.
- Doesn’t use AI (can’t stress this one enough). AI generated content has no place in our news, and that includes drafts and samples you send us. We actively review news articles and AI generated content will be identified…
What You’ll Cover
- Beta builds and what changes from build to the next (in direct sync with our dataminer). This also includes future PTR builds post-launch.
- Blues, developer interviews, community findings, and our YouTube videos.
- Events, such as BlizzCon, gamescom, pre-release events, and more.
