The meta is well and truly set on a large level, as entire top 10s are sitting still! While we don’t have an exact date, the end of the season looms large with players mostly sticking with the plan, as the No.1 group composition grows even more. Let’s see how things look two weeks after the last tuning pass.
The Data
The data used in this article comes from Raider.IO‘s excellent analytics tools, taking into account all Mythic+ runs across all levels of play. The data is focused on this reset and not on the season as a whole.
The Most Popular Specs in Mythic+
While the top 7 remains solid, we see some smaller movement in the very top. Guardian drops the biggest amount of players at 0.3%, with Retribution losing 0.1%, Beast Mastery 0.2%, and Unholy another 0.3%. Protection Paladin is the big winner this week, rising a huge 0.5% and gaining two spots in 8th. Discipline is also up, 0.2%, in fact, and entered the top 10 for the first time in a long time. The bottom 3 remain the same, with Fire dropping to the very bottom.
Runs by Key Level
We have a completed +25 this time around, expanding the chart! To nobody’s surprise, it’s the No.1 group composition that got the job done.
And here are the full numbers, including the amount of runs.
Group Composition Popularity
Note: The below chart shows the percentage of group popularity in relation to the top 30 compositions. This means that, for example, the top group says it’s 30% of the compositions, but that’s just 30% of the top 30. In reality, it’s just 2% of all groups played. You can see the smaller 2% number if you hover over the group line in the chart on the Raider.IO page.
While the specs that comprise it are dropping, the top group composition is actually gaining in popularity. It is now 33% of all top 30 groups, and 2.3% of all compositions. The No.2 group, switching the Mistweaver and Aug for a Shaman and Ret, is also in a good spot, climbing almost half a percent. It can never reach the very top, of course, but it does move away from the others, the highest of which are sitting at fully half of No.2’s numbers, around 4%.
Mythic+ DPS Logs
The below logs are based on POINTS, and not actual damage or healing. This means that they log the timed completion for the specs, with higher keys getting more points, obviously. The time in which the dungeon is completed is also a factor. It is a much, much smaller factor, however. It grants only a few points for significantly faster completions compared to just any in-time finish. We’re also using the Normalized Aggregate Scores numbers, for clarity. This means that the top spec is marked as 100 and then the rest are ranked in relation to that peak point.
95th percentile DPS
The top performers are well and truly set, as the top 11 specs remain exactly the same. The No.1, Augmentation, separates itself from the pack a little more, while the rest are about as close as they were the previous reset.
All Percentiles
The generalist bracket is still playing catch-up, so we have some movement here. Feral is still rising, coming into 7th and sailing past Demonology. The Rogues are gathering right outside the top 10, as Outlaw remains stable, Assassination rises a little, and Subtlety rises a big 5 spots.
Very High Key Raw DPS Numbers
Note: We’re also taking a look at the raw damage numbers from Mythicstats. They take the top runs for extremely high keys (+16-25) from WarcraftLogs and list the overall DPS for the dungeon, which includes non-combat time as well. They’re ranked by the average DPS numbers, with the very top of the top shown next to it.
