It seems Blizzard needs things to move along a bit quicker! Liquid entered the raid proper today with their many pulls on Mythic Forgeweaver Araz, the fourth boss of the Manaforge: Omega raid. They had some solid progress and got the boss down to 60%. They even switched to three tanks to get it done. However, after 24 pulls, the boss wasn’t really going down any lower. Players met the enrage of his echoes (the boss copies himself), and needed both more DPS and the three tanks. It was looking like a pretty huge wall, even for the No.1 guild from the last two races.
A BIG Nerf
Blizzard wasted no time in adjusting the encounter, and what an adjustment it was. A HUGE 40% reduction in health for all the echoes! And there a 5% reduction to the boss health itself on top. This indicates that the intended way to kill the boss is to also kill the echoes faster, which Liquid was avoiding by tanking them.
The boss will certainly be going down much lower soon. It seems likely that a kill will be arriving today, maybe even soon as well. But it’s still unclear just how much easier this will make the boss, as no guild has made it past the second entry into phase 1.
We’ll see how quickly Liquid get past this boss, as the nerf may have been intended for the lower-ranked guilds to actually be able to kill the boss at all.
