Big Shakeup at the Top: Exploits and Post-October-Tuning Manaforge: Omega Raid Logs

Starym's Avatar by Starym

We have a VERY active week here in the raid charts, as the recent class tuning changed things up. However, it may not just be the tuning affecting the logs, as there were some pretty heavy exploits going on earlier in the week. It seems players managed to massively increase their main stat using a weird method, with some getting tens of thousands of extra stats.

We don’t know exactly how many players took advantage of this exploit and how that may have affected the logs, but if you see an especially weird burst upwards, keep in mind it might be that.

Note: We are using normalized scores instead of raw DPS for the Warcraft Logs rankings. Normalized scores take into account the outlier boss fights where certain specs could stack massive DPS (due to the nature of the fight, whether it’s AoE spam or something else), which would then affect their overall score for the whole raid.

Overall Damage 95th Percentile

The nerfs hit Hunters a bit more than Arcane, but they’re all very close together anyway. The biggest winner in the top is certainly Elemental, as it slides into the top 3,gaining a big 4 spots! Arcane moves to the very top but is almost exactly tied with Beast Mastery, while Meaksmanship gets hit a lot more than its fellow Hunter, losing the top spot and falling down to 4th. Fury moves one up as Destro drops four spots to 9th, with Frost DKs nerf taking four spots away from it as well. Fire and Assassination are in 7th and 8th, gaining two and three spots, respectively, as Windwalker drops two to make room. We see Demonology drop all the way down to the bottom 3 from the middle of the pack, affected by the Dimensius boost effect.

Overall Damage All Percentiles

Arcane is on top here as well as the Hunters drop off a lot more, but the big news is Fury’s 3-spot rise into 2nd! Elemental surges as spots free up, gaining four spots in 3rd. Assassination bursts 7 spots up into 4th, as Frost DK’s 3% nerf results in it dropping from No.1 to No.5. BM only drops three spots in 6th, while Marksmanship almost falls out of the top 10 entirely, losing six spots in 9th.

Boss Only Damage All Percentiles

Fire takes over in the direct damage chart and we see where Assassination’s burst comes from, as it moves a giant 10 spots up into 2nd. BM didn’t get hit too hard here, only dropping the one spot, while Frost DK drops 4. The Druids are clawing their way back, moving into the middle of the top 10.

Individual Bosses

Warlocks are moving up in the world on Foregweaver and remain on top on Soul Hunters, as we find a surprising spec on top for Dimensius, as Frost Mage possibly took advantage of the stat shenanigans, as only a few players doing it would be enough to shift the chart. We also see Assassination riding uncharacteristically high on the final boss this week.

Heroic Overall Damage All Percentiles

We have a very nice and diverse top in Heroic, with the Hunters dropping down to the end of the top 10. Fury and Destruction gained the most in the top, and Fire came out of the lower end and 11 spots up into 8th.
