Blizzard has officially moved Patch 11.1.2 for World of Warcraft to internal testing! According to the data spotted on the “WoW Dev” development branch, the build has shifted from version 11.1.5 Build 59327 to 11.2.5 Build 61107. The change was recorded on May 29, at 07:27 UTC.

The build is currently encrypted, which prevents us from dataming to see what’s new.

What We Know About Patch 11.2.5 So Far

While Blizzard has not officially announced what’s coming, Patch 11.2.5 is expected to be a smaller update primarily focusing on new story content.

Based on the 2025 roadmap, the patch is set to launch shortly after the reveal of the Midnight expansion, placing its likely release window in Fall 2025.

New Story Content and WoW’s 21st Anniversary Event Expected

One key highlight of Patch 11.2.5 is World of Warcraft’s 21st anniversary. Recently, Blizzard has completely revamped the anniversary event for the 20th anniversary, so we expect most of the rewards to return in 2026 with only minimum changes.

It’s also reasonable to expect a minor story, something similar to the Dalaran post-destruction questline, and maybe a smaller prelude to what’s coming in 11.2.7!

With Blizzard releasing content for retail WoW faster than ever, we expect Patch 11.1.5 to release on June 17, and then, Patch 11.2 to hit Public Test Realms shortly after.
