If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’ve probably seen that player housing is finally coming to WoW! It’s confirmed on the 2025 roadmap, slotted in after Patch 11.2.7. But the burning question now is: when do we get to move in?
Player Housing as a Midnight Pre-Purchase Bonus
It didn’t take long for the community to notice and an interesting discussion on Reddit is already talking about the timing as to exactly when the feature will be available to players.
Lats9 thinks we could see player housing on its own and the Midnight pre-patch later, similar to how the Allied Races were a Battle for Azeroth feature, bur came out earlier during Legion, but still required the BfA expansion pre-purchase.

If you think about it, this one probably makes the most sense! Player housing has been the most-requested feature in the game’s history, so it will be one of the main selling points of the Midnight expansion.

Free Player Housing for Everyone?
Another theory claims player housing will be free for everyone when it launches, which is the complete opposite of the feature being tied to an expansion pre-purchase.
Whatever the situation, we hope to see a Midnight cinematic at around Gamescom 2025, which is slated for August 20, 2025.
