Cross-Faction Housing Means Your Main Can Finally Live Anywhere

Housing is on the horizon! For those who have pre-ordered Midnight, Player Housing arrives on 2nd December—and with it, two new neighbourhoods. Every player can purchase two houses: one in the Horde’s Razorwind Shores, and another in the Alliance’s Founder’s Point.

But what if you’re a Night Elf who’d rather settle on the sandy beaches of Razorwind Shores? Or an Orc wanting a peaceful cottage among the blue banners of Founder’s Point?

Well, there’s good news! WoW’s new Player Housing system is surprisingly flexible when it comes to faction.

Cross-Faction Home Buying: How It Works

If you want to buy a house in the opposite faction’s neighbourhood, you’ll need a character of that faction to make the purchase. That’s it. Once the house has been purchased, every character on your account—Horde or Alliance—can access and decorate.

Why You Might Want an Alt Anyway

Even though any character can decorate any home once it’s purchased, some decor items are locked behind faction-specific reputations. So while an Alliance player can decorate a Horde-side home, it may take a Horde character with the right reputation if you plan to collect every decor item available.

If you don’t already have an alt for each faction, it’s absolutely worth levelling them now—especially while Legion Remix is still live and levelling is lightning fast!
