Getting your Myth Dawncrests from delves is going to take slightly longer in Midnight, as looting them from
Gilded Stash is gated behind reach Level 4 in the Delver’s Journey.
Introduced in 11.1, the
Gilded Stash is a way for players to earn their seasonal gilded crests by doing delves. Capped out at 21 per week, it was added to give players a way to gear up through delves. Blizzard now appears to be putting a restriction on acquiring them, by locking them in the Delver’s Journey.

Gilded Stash Also Locked Behind Delver’s Journey
The
Gilded Stash itself is now locked behind the track as well, slowing down the crests gains from delves even further. You only need level two, meaning you’ll still get them pretty quick, but it’s a step down from the previous two seasons when they were unlocked from the start.

Crests Philosophy in Midnight Hints That Gearing Should Be Slower
These changes are slowing down gearing in a way that feels consistent with Blizzard’s current plans going into Midnight. Blizzard increased the cost of fully upgrading an item by double, but only increased the cap by 10. This makes it clear from their point of view that gearing is too fast, and should be more of a grind to get your best pieces to max level.
Players will have to play more in order to achieve their desired gear level. For players who don’t raid, Mythic+ or PvP, these changes make things even longer for them. If catch-up mechanics are limited, this could mean players who fall behind early will stay behind.
