What’s Shrieking Quartz?
Shrieking Quartz is an item used to spawn Nexus-Princess Ky’veza inside your Season 3 delve runs after the first checkpoint. Take her down to 50%, and she drops a 
Delver’s Bounty, right? Use that bounty before beating the final boss, and you’re walking out with Hero-track item level 694 loot on Tier 8. Sounds great, except for ONE HUGE CATCH that Blizzard didn’t exactly mention….
Why It’s a Waste Right Now
Delver’s Bounty maps ARE LOCKED behind Rank 2 of the Delver’s Journey!
If you’re still Rank 1, Nexus-Princess Ky’veza simply won’t drop the Bounty map when you use your Shrieking Quartz, so it’s practically WASTED!
Delver’s Journey XP Changes
To make things even worse, Season 3 changed how you rank up in the Delver’s Journey! Delve completions NO LONGER GIVE XP, so your only ways up are:
- The weekly quest;
- Opening Bountiful Coffers (limited to 4 per character)
- Finding Hidden Troves (which also don’t unlock until Rank 2 for the exact reasons listed above).
The fastest path to reach Rank 2 would be run your highest-tier delves for the weekly, use those 4 coffer keys at max difficulty per character. and use your alts for more XP.
